Personal Responsability.
Last sabbath Rev. Herreli of
Norm Carouna preached two good
sermons at the Presbyterian church.
noon and night.
The morning sermon was verv
pleasing, . as it - dealt j 1 with • L personal
responsibiulx.
Rev. Herreli's sermon was very
simple, but strong. He spoke of
Biblical and modern instances
where a personal appeal was the
means of spreading the gospel like
an ocean wave, to the uttermost
ends of the earth.
He took his text from the 1st.
chapter of John. "And he brought
Simon to Jesus.”
Rev. Herreli said that Andrew
had been shown Christ by John,
his brother, and Andrew was a man
of common attainments, but he felt
his responsibility and took Simon
Peter, his brilliant brother,to Jesus
m answer to a question from Peter.

The Bank ot Demorest Goes Into

Tuesday the bank of Demorest
was put into the bands of a receiv-

Though Mr. So-ebee ^ signed _ the

hard times and poor collections.
Every depositor will be paid in

reason that the stock holders are

amount of their stock. This makes

much more safe than the usual bank

advertised this feature, it is more
than probable the doors would not
have been closed.
The bank was organized in 1801

on constitutional amendments, re-
ported back. Tuesday, the bill for
a convention, with a recommends-

in the original bill as mtoduced b\
Mr. x«vin of Floyd. The origina

held. The substitute takes this out
of the people's hand* and requires
the governor to call for an election
of the delegates to the convention,
The original bill proposes to have
two delegates for every representa-

The substitute proposes to have

provides that all delegates shall
