The Gainesville Eagle of last
week, speaking of the call that
Rev. L. A. Simpson has received
to the Cherokee Presbytery as an
evangelist, which call he has ac¬
cepted, says :
Rev. L. A. Simpson, who has
for the past three years so accept¬
ably filled the pastorate of the
Presbyterian church here, has re¬
signed this work and his resigna¬
tion was accepted.
Mr. Simpson gives up this work
here to accept a call from the
Cherokee ^Presbytery as evange¬
list. The Presbytery selected him
as a preacher and pastor and work¬
er of experience in this sort of
labor and will send him in the
northern portion of the State, where
the denomination has small
strength as yet, to establish schools
and churches where there are none
and organize congregations where
practicable. He will probably
make Blue Ridge his headquarters
aud expects to begin the work
actively by Aug. 1st.
A gentleman of means in Atlan¬
ta has proposed to furnish funds to
erect such school houses and
churches as Mr. Simpson’s new
work may need and to pay the
salries of teachers employed.
While his church here regrets to
give him up and the town will feel
the loss, his friends wish abundant
success in his broader field of labor.

On last Tuesday evening a
crowd of young people consisting

tea, and the reputation of the

The Same Old Story
J. A. Kelley relates an experi-
once similar to that which has
happened in almost every neigh¬
borhood in the United States and
has been told and re-tojd by thou¬
sands others. He says : “Last sum¬
mer I had an attack oi dysentry
and purchased a bottle of Cham¬
berlain’s Colic, Cholera and Diar¬
rhoea Remedy, which I used ac¬
cording to directions and with en¬
tirely satisfactory results. The
trouble wascontrolled much quick¬
er than former attacks when I used
other remedies.” Mr- Kelley is a
well known citizen of Henderson,

Whn’t Follow Advice After
Paying for it.
In a recent article a prominent
physician says, “It is next to im¬
possible for the physician to get
his patients to carry out any pre¬
scribed course ot hygiene or diet to
the smallest extent; he has but one
resort left, namely, the drug treat¬
ment.” When medicines are used
for chronic constipation, the most
mild and gentle obtainable, such
as Chamberlain’s Stomach & Liver
Tablets,should be employed. Their
use is not followed by constipation
as they leave the bowels in a
natural and healthy condition.
