Death of Dr. T. Y. Henry of Quin
ey, Florida.
An honored sud .much respected citizen of
our sisier town departed this life on Tuesday
Juitc tiie Ist. We allude to (as will be
seen from our caption) Dr. T. Y v . Henry, a
grandson of that eminent orator Patrick
Henry. Dr. Henry had been ill for several
weeks, but none of his friends seemed to
think that death was so near at hand. Tla
deceased was about 50 years of age,'—been*
joyed an enviable refutation, and was bet
loved by every one that know him.
We learn previous to his death he pro~
fessed religion, and dir and a true believer in
our Lord and Favior Jesus Christ.
In his death Quincy loses oue of its most
prominent citizens.
Dr: Henry leaves a wife .and one child.

Cuban Affairs
The last accounts from Cuba is very fa
vorable to the insurgents. Several fil
lihnstering expeditions from the United
States well armed and equipped have joined
the insurgent?.
A dispatch dated June 4th says: the lan
ding of the fiilibusteis caused a depression
of business.
A fight took place near Vila Clara
tween 1200 insurgents and the the Spanish
troops. A passenger reports that only
three Spaniards escaped.
Nelson sailed for Vera .Cruz on thejsixth.
The filibusters who recently landed at the
bay of Nipe proceeded t<*> the interior,
abandoning four guns from want of trans*
poriation.
This report is, we have no doubt ’ con
siderably exaggerated; but it is very evi
dent that the Cubans have the‘inside track’
on their enemies at present.
Cuban bonds bring a fair price in the
New York mark t, $12,000,000, has already
been raised upon them.
Spain has sent Deßoda to supercede
Dtilce as Captain General. The papers say
that Deßoda is a perfect hyena aud will
show the Cubans no quitters.
A telegram from New York dated June
ftl», says: It is reported that a clipper
ship and eight hundred men, commanded
by William Herdney, of Cincinnati* sailed
oh Saturday to join Cespedos. The men
left Now Yol k for an excursion to the Fish
ing Bunks', on schooners, and boarded tin*

of them are Western men who served un
