all my experience of the Da mocratic leaders
I never found them stupid. I never Ml
much doubt about tljeir accepting the nomi
nee of the Cincinnati Convention.”
“Do you think that your prospects are
favorable against Grant?”
“Well, sir, the people want anew depart
ure. They are tired and worn out with the
military ring. They waDt to ferget the war
and let bygones be bygones. Now, I think
we’d bettor accept friendliness from the
South if they’ll be friendly, and I think they
will. .

It shall be unlaw ul for sny person to turn loose
upotl the Streets aay Horse or Horses, Mule or
Mules, Coat or Goats, Hog or Hogs ; or to allow
such animals to run at large wilhid the Corpora
tion; and any person violating this Ordinance shall
be punished by Fine of not exceeding Five Dollars
in descretion; and it shall be the duty of the Mar
i'hall to impound such attinir.!- «t the ex.-ense of
the party owing or claiming them; to be collected
as other fines: I’royided always. That part of this
Ordinance referring to hogs shall not take effect
until after the First Pay of June, 1872.
