Based on the present SPLOST III collection trend and assuming natural business growth, Lee County can expect to receive about $300,000 per month or $3,600,000 per year if the next SPLOST is approved by the vot ers. 18 million dollars should be collected over the five year time frame. Under the current distribution of the LOST funds, Lee County is receiving 70.94 percent of the revenue while Leesburg is receiv ing 17.5 percent and Smithville is receiving 11.56 percent. The three government bodies will meet again in August to deter mine the allocation to each of the government bodies for the next SPLOST and LOST. Mr. Griffin retired from the Lee County Building Inspection Department with six years of service to the citizens of Lee County. Bill Griffins plans to hunt, fish, attend Auburn football games and spend more time with his family. He also plans to go to North Dakota and train bird dogs. Allyson Reel, daughter of John and Christy Nanney of Leesburg. Georgia and Tommy Reel of Greenville, N.C. will be will be among the candidates compet ing for the title of Miss Teen of Georgia at the 2001 State Pag eant, which will be held at LaGrange College, in LaGrange, Georgia August 3-5. The winner of the pageant competition will receive a $1,000.00 cash scholarship, a $500.00 educational savings bond and $250.00 to present to her school on behalf of the Miss Teen of America Scholarship and Recognition Pro gram. The new state title holder will also be eligible to com pete for the National Title of Miss Teen of America and vie for additional scholarships, prizes and awards. Each state candidate will be scored in six areas, including. Scholastic Record; Achievement and Service to School and Com- Alexander, stated: "This pageant truly reflects the young women of the Twenty-First Cen tury.
