The week has been a tough one on the p’ole fishermen on the lake, one feller sed Saturday that if a fish had been caught that day it’d be “wind burnt”. The wind blew so hard some areas of the lake was covered by 4&5 foot waves. The Guys & Dolls Tournament was a great success. The cold weather and blue bird days kept the weights from being so great but the thrill was still there as it has been from 1981 when we started with them. The 4th and last team tourna ment of Wingates Lodge took place Saturday, and did the wind howl. Young Brad Hambric & his Father stole the show and first place. Brad who is 15 & fishing his first tournament on his third cast landed an 8 lbs. bass. They then caught 4 or 5 more to have 12.74 lbs. Robert & Rick Tindell was second & Chuck Hawes & Howard Cartonrightwar 3rd. It is also good to see Brooks Cockran, grandson of Jim Cockran, who was 10 on that day, they took 9th place and a check home. At this writing the water temp is 77°, the lake is basic clear.
