On October 9 th , Mrs. Murdock’s class had a special treat. Steven Holden's mother, Lisa Holden, came to the school and taught a science lesson to his class. Mrs. Holden is a science teacher at Albany High School. Her lesson was about atoms - solids, liquids and gases. The students stirred a mysteri ous powder (really corn starch) and colored water to make a gooey mess. Was it a solid or a liquid? Guess what they discovered? It was both. Students also enjoyed a snack consisting of a solid - a cookie, a liquid - root beer and a gas - the buddies on top of the soda! After the lesson, Mrs. Murdock had the children write about what they had learned. l VwAAAAAAAAA. P 1 1 COME PLAY IN THE CLAY!
