The lake is full of Big Bass but where they go no one knows. The Lightning fell to the St. Teresa's Crusaders by a score of 0-2. The team played heroically after losing several players to in jury and travel. Team members, Willie Melton (broke arm) and Matthew Christmas (broke foot), were unavailable due to injuries, therefore the Lightning was forced to play the championship with no substitutions. The brave eleven each played the entire game with no rest. Kris Abney, Drew Ringham and Nick O'Lear each spent time in goal, David Bradshaw and Tyler Lewis rounded out the defensive backfield. Josh Muggridge, Brendan Hegarty and Quinn Roe played mid-field while Paul York, Mike Everhart, and Eric Soto drove the offense. Willie Melton and Kris Abney served as cap tains. On the one mile event, Kirsten Underwood of TyTy, Georgia, had a time of 8:10. Gannon Underwood, of TyTy. Georgia had a time of 8:40. In the 5K (3.1 miles) event, Benny Wade of Cordele. GA. had a time of 21:46 in the 60-64 age classification and placed first. Nathan Norton of Americus, Georgia had a time of 23:05 in the 14-under classification. Donnie Yarbrough of Sylvester, Georgia had a time of 23:47 in the 45-49 age classification and placed third.
