Cat “Penny 99 By Weenonah Jones When I brought Penny home a few years ago I never realized what a change would take place in our household. When she came to live with us she knew she would be the queen and would reign supreme. Everyone bowed to her loving ways. To show her affection she presented us with two adorables (cats, of course). She felt so proud that she was able to bring us a gift of such magni tude and I loved her for giving something of herself for us to en joy. But, it wasn't long before I re alized that I would have to end this giving of gifts before I would have the place over-run with cats So FOR HOMEOWNERS www.concordmortgageloans.com S 4 One Monthly Payment 4 Borrow 100% ol Equity ♦ Refinance & Lower Payments ♦ Make Home Improvements ♦ No Minimum Property Values ♦ Pay Out of Chapter 13 ♦ County or City Properties I ♦ Frame-Brick-Double Wides ♦ Less Than Perfect Credit is OK 4 Consolidate All Your Bills 4 Purchase Auto - Keep Title 4 10-15-20-30 Year Loans •f No Application Fees Up Front 4 Subject to Approval 4 Rates Subject-to Change 4 Some Restrictions Apply I EXAMPLE LOANS AT 6.75% RATE AMOUNT 180 MONTHS 360 MONTHS $10,000 $88.49 N/A $20,000 $176.98 $129.72 $30,000 $265.47 $194.58 $50,000 $442.45 $324.30 $75,000 $663.68 $486.45 LOANS FROM $10,000 TO $1,000,000 GEORGIA RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE LICENSEE CONCORD MORTGAGE. I gave them not very unusual names I admit. They had some Perisan ancestry but they were not aristocratic by any means. Their love for each other grew over the years. Instead of three little dishes, they have one big dish for their food. Such polite ness in table manners you have never seen. Never will they take from another and it is unheard of to fuss over the food or be too greedy. While eating sometimes they will wash each others face But, that isn't all! They all sleep together in a box under the house. Smokey refuses to go to bed un less Penny goes too. He waits at the door until I let her out. Oh dear, such personalities! I should say, "Catanalities". First, let us take Fluffy. He is a hunter. He would rather hunt than eat. almost that is, out, he is very gentle and loving. But, not Smokey. He fights any beast that comes near and beware to the one so unfor tunate as to come near to provoke his wrath. Penny is still, though, the protective Mother and shows her courage whenever necessary when a battle takes place. They all love a chase. Well, one day a chipmonk came into the yard. Fluffy took after him like a bolt of lightening. He soon had him in his mouth but not to eat him but to play with for awhile. Anyway, such a fun time he had. To see him try to get away, the aeros®^ io#$flO* ai * fca Puddle of mud godsmack hanks for hangin' with 973 The Fox. 100,000 watts of Rock! chipmonk, of course, and then to see Fluffy catch him again, was something to watch. This went on for quite awhile. Soon, this little chipmonk saw his chance to es cape and away he ran up the near est tree with Fluffy in wild pur suit. Not only did he run up the tree but up to the highest branch. Poor Fluffy was a disappointed cat. All he could do was to look and gaze upward and if he could speak, I would not want to hear what he had to say. Well, things went along very peaceful, that is, until one night calamity struck. I will never for get the wild piercing cat call that came out of the darkness. I jumped out of bed and dashed out into the night to see what was the trouble. I saw only Smokey star ing into the darkness and quite disturbed. Penny and Fluffy were no where to be seen, so I was afraid that something had hap pened to them, but they soon ap peared and were very happy to have me console them. The next night the same thing occurred but Smokey, this time, had gotten hold of the intruder, a big black Tom. When I arrived on the scene he took off like a bullet with Smokey far behind. This went on for sometime and believe me it was getting on my nerves to say the least. Poor Smokey was get ting some bad results from his fights. I suggested to my husband that he should shoot him or that I would be a nervous wreck. This Tom was indeed a killer cat. One that was determined to take over this territory that belonged to my cats and non other, and reign su preme himself. One night as the Killer approached our house my husband was ready with his gun to do away with this intruder. Smokey was there to do his part and chased him under the house. There is only one opening so the Killer could not get out after the door was closed. My husband crawled under the house after the cat with me holding the flash light. Believe me it was a weird feeling trying to kill something and not being able to see what you were killing. Finally, the Killer was spotted at the end of the house and all we could see was two bright eyes starring at us. My husband fired away and we were sure we had him at last, but low and behold the only thing he struck was the house which showed a big hole, wide enough for the cat to get away. It was a vexing situation and also laugh able and indeed ridiculous to see two grown people after a cat and to have it end in the cat's favor. Well, to end this story, the Killer was killed but not by us. The owner said if the cat caused that much trouble he would be better off in cat heaven, so he did the job. All cat lovers and those who are destine to be lovers of cats will appreciate the antics of my cats and to understand the love on will soon have for them. So, my three cats and I bid you adieu and hope that love will continue to endure and grow between man and fe lines.
