Were you at Hardee’s? If not, you missed your friends, a hot cup of coffee or a cold coke? Boy Scout Troop #210 meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at the Leesburg United Methodist Church Learning Center. The Lee County Historical So ciety meets each second Thursday at 7 p.m. The next meeting will be in January. The American Legion meets each first Monday at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Building. The Masonic Lodge meets each second and fourth Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Lodge Building. The Youth of the Leesburg United Church will have a Youth Prayer Breakfast each Thursday at 7:15 a.m. There will be a Women’s Bible Study at the First Baptist Church each Friday from 10 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. All ladies are welcome. The Men of the Leesburg United Methodist Church will be meet ing at Krystal’s in Leesburg at 8 a.m. each Tuesday for a Prayer Breakfast. The UMM of the Leesburg United Methodist Church will have their monthly supper and meeting Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m. The Leesburg United Method ist Church will have “Fruit on the Altar” this Sunday to be givinn to the needy for Thanksgiving. Following a Charge Conference Meeting next Sunday at the Lees burg United Methodist Church at 4:30 p.m., there will be a Com munity Worship with refresh ments in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church. Sean Faircloth will present the mes sage. The Helen Johnson Circle of the Leesburg United Methodist Church UMW will meet Monday, November 19 at 3:30 p.m. with Joyce Smith. The Aline Grace Circle of the Leesburg United Methodist Church UMW will meet Monday, November 19 at 7 p.m. Place to be announced. The Florence Cannon Circle of the Leesburg United Methodist Church UMW will meet Tuesday, November 20 at 10 a.m. with Ruby Davis. Fears Named LCES Teacher Of The Year Shea Fears has been named Teacher of the Year by the staff at Lee County Elementary School. Mrs. Fears teaches math to fifth graders. Shea Fears has six years of teach ing experience, all of which has been in Lee County. Shea Fears has a Bachelor of Sci ence Degree in Education from the University of Georgia. She is working on a Masters in Education at Georgia Southwestern State Uni versity. Mrs. Fears, the former Shea Win gate, is a native of Leesburg, Geor gia. Her hobbies are reading and working outside in her flower beds. Students in Cindy Marshall’s class won the Veterans Day Door Decoration Contest at Lee County Middle School. Success stu dents have been working on Ca reer Manuals for the past few weeks. Each student was given the opportunity to visit the work site and see first hand what a day’s work is like. The day was used as a motivational activity as well as an opportunity to provide a unique experience for each par ticipant. The connection between academics and careers helped to make the classwork more rel evant. Also, building community partnerships between Lee County high school students and busi nesses help to enhance the edu cational experience. Businesses and people in the community that participated were: Kidsville, Lee Medical Arts, Leesburg Police Depart ment, Lee County Parks and Rec reation, Leesburg Fire Depart ment, Dr. Jay Williams, Stonebridge Country Club, De partment of Natural Resources, Wallace Chevrolet.
