This road has been abandoned by the county for almost 40 years. This is known by the people who live in the area. A native of Coffee County, Georgia, Mrs. Wilkerson had re sided in Albany since 1944 be fore moving to Lee County in 1988. Mrs. Wilkerson was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include: her husband, Jeff Wilkerson of Leesburg; three sons, Tommy Wilkerson of Lees burg, James Wilkerson of Albany and Roy Gene Smith of Valdosta; two daughters, Hazel Stroud of Lee County and Ruth Reynolds of Roberta, Ga.; one brother, Alton Smith of Waynesville, Mis souri; one half-brother, Allen Smith of Lithia, Fla.; three sisters, Avie Smith Porter of Broxton, Ga, Ruby Arroyo of Palatka, Fla., and Mary Scott of Jacksonville, Fla.; three half-sisters, Winnie Byrd of Marianna, Fla, Elizabeth Carter and Mildred Kitchens, both of Douglas, Ga.; 17 grand children, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. WALTER F. MARTINS The funeral service of Walter F. Martins, 76, who died Wednes day, November 28, at Palmyra Medical Centers, was held Fri day, November 30 at Kimbrell- Stern with interment in Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Calvin King officiated. A native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Mr. Martins had lived in Albany since 1972. He was a re tired Fireman with the City of Miami. Mr. Martins was a mem ber of Raleigh White Baptist Church where he was a member of the Good News Sunday School Class and a deacon. He was also a member of the Retired Firefighters Association. Survivors include his wife Patricia E.
