KITTY SIMMONS Kitty Simmons, 59. of Albany, died at her home following an ill ness. Her funeral service was held Thursday at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church with in terment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Bagwell and the Rev. Nancy Scarbrough will officiate. A native of Albany, she gradu ated from Albany High School and Valdosta State College. She was a school teacher in the Lee County and Dougherty County Schools Systems for over 25 years. She was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. She was pre deceased by her husband Gilbert G. Simmons, and her parents Toby and Catherine Royal. Survivors include 2 sons: Gil bert “Gil” Simmons and his wife Kelly, Jacksonville, FL, Roland Adam Simmons, Albany; a daughter: Rolanda Miller and her husband Dennis , Vero Beach, FL; grandson: Dalton Miller, Vero Beach, FL; five sisters: Toby Royal Harris, Jean Carter and her husband Pete, Penny Woodall and Sandy Holt of Sylvester, Georgia, enjoyed an afternoon of tea recently at the Sip of Grace in Leesburg. December 9, 2001, at Palmyra Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Monday, December 10 with in terment following in Crown Hill Cemetery. Born on September 6. 1910, in Pleasant Valley. Alabama. Mrs. Hill had resided in Albany since 1956 moving from Miami, Fla. She was a Realtor and employed with Dismuke Realty for 30 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the XYZ Club. Coin Club, Sweet Heart Club, Garden Club of Georgia, and South Georgia Judge and Council, and attended Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Jane Stone Humpries of Birmingham, Ala.; a son-in-law, Donald F. Parks Sr. of Albany; a grandson, Donald F. Parks Jr. of Rose well; a granddaughter, Patricia Brady of Cuthbert; two great-grandchil dren, a great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband. Marvin V. Hill; a daughter, Sarah Crawford; a step daughter, Eva Hill Parks; two sis ter, Christine Stone and Annabele Stone; a brother. Phillip A. Stone; mother, Elbe Earl Scott Stone; and father. Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church of Albany with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Thad Haygood officiated. Born on January 10. 1984. in Colquitt County, Ga. Survivors include his mother, Judy Randle of Albany; his father. Ronald K. Randle of Albany; two brothers. Ricky and Joey Randle, both of Albany; and maternal grandparents. Ferol and Essie Mims of Hartsfield. FRANK WATSON Frank Watson, 55, of Leesburg, died Saturday, December 8, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospi tal. His funeral service was held Tuesday, December 11, at Kimbrell-Stern with interment following at Leesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Russell Elkins and Rev. Buddy Watson officiated. A native of Albany, he had lived in Albany and Lee County all of his life. He attended school in Albany and attended Albany High School. He received his real estate license and was vice-presi dent of Pellicano Construction Company. He served as the rec reation director of Lee County for seven years and was a member of the Bassin Buddies. Mr. Watson was very active in youth sports programs in Dougherty and Lee Counties. He was a well known and long-time youth football coach in the midget program in Albany and in Lee County. He also coached girls 18 and under softball teams in this area for many years. He was preceeded in death by his daughter. Sheila Watson Can non.
