Kerry Underwood of TyTy, GA. won 1st place in the 35-39 year age range with the winning time of 19:37. Brenda Gail Wall of Leesburg, GA. won the 2nd place in the 45-49 year age range with a time of 40:37. Chip Carson of Americus, GA. won 2nd place in the 50-54 year age range with a time of 22:55. In addition, Danny Wall of Leesburg, GA. won 1st place in the 55-59 year age range with a time of 32:12. In the 60- 64 year age range, Benny Wade of Cordele, GA. captured 1st place with the winning time of 22:44, Fred Goolsby of Milledgeville, GA. won 2nd place with a time of 24:45, and Lamar Dickens of Omega, GA. won 3rd place with a time of 25:04. Derrick Sheffield of Leesburg, Georgia harvested this two hundred pound eight point buck on November 11,2001. Jami Dedge harvested this seven point buck on Webb Farms in Leary, Ga. The deer weighed 185 pounds. This is Jami’s third deer. A seventh grader at Lee County Middle School, she is the daughter of Keith and Teresa Dedge. Terry Scroggins of Palatka, Florida won the St. Johns Invita tional Bass Tournament out of Palatka with 40 lbs. of Bass. Danny White of Milledgeville, Georgia was second, Mark Radison was third of Wisconsin. That area of Florida has been badly effected by the Florida drought. Salty seawater has moved up to the bridge at Green Cove Springs. All the grasses are dead from that point to the Jet ties north of Jacksonville. We have been told that a tidal flow of 6 inches is coming into the Big lake George area at Drayton's Is land, like of rain is the cause of this. Michael Thompson of Moultry, Georgia won the Lowndes County Bass Clubs Tournament this past Saturday with 17 lbs. of Bass. Mr. Johnie Reynolds won the Lunker Bass Clubs Fish out. Small Bass bit all week long but good'ens waited til late Friday and the weekend. I know for sure the ression ain't so bad cause the lawmakers in Washington voted theyself a raise Friday.
