Mrs. Brenda Morrow, mother of Kate Morrow in Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Reed’s class, spent the day at school sharing with all the students the art of decorating Gingerbread Houses. Students got to see houses during the construction phase and participated in decorating. Mrs. Morrow showed, to the delight of the students, a completed Gingerbread House that had light shining through from amber (made from melted sugar) windows. All of us at Lee County Primary school appreciate Mrs. Morrow and all our many volunteers who share their time and talents with us. Pictured with Mrs. Morrow are students from Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Reed’s first grade class. That was over forty years ago and since then I have loved and lost many family members and friends. I’ve learned that if we can continue to live after losing the people that we love, we can live through anything. Christmas is a time to give love, compassion, acceptance, understanding, trust, hope and faith. Every Christmas, I marvel at the blessings I have received throughout my life. I live in a country where I have the freedom to celebrate Jesus Christ birthday and know that through his birth and death I have the opportunity to be with my loved ones again throughout eternity. God has blessed me with many wonderful Christmases. I look forward to being with my family and dearest friends this season, especially this year after seeing so much terrorism. Singing Christmas songs, decorating our home, playing games, sharing gifts, good food, hardy laughter, hugs and prayers with family and friends are memories that I hope will warm our hearts for the rest of our lives.
