In recent months, Stepping Karen Fenton is the Inclusion
Kindergarten students from Lee County Primary school had a full day of learning
and discovery on a recent field trip. Students went to Bob’s Candy Outlet where

they learned the process of candy cane making and
toured the outlet store. Next they went to the Clay
Spot where they painted and decorated a trivet to be
given to someone special in their family. Students
had a great aerobic and gymnastic workout at Albany
Gymnastics Academy where sack lunches were eaten
as well. The day concluded at the Busy Elves Tree
Farm where students learned about the growing
process of trees as well the different trees from
various regions of the U.S. Pictured are students

LCES Students Of The Week
Kelsey Blaylock, Melissa Reese, and Elizabeth
Matheny have been selected Lee County Elementary
School’s Students of the Week. Kelsey Blaylock is a
third grade student. Kelsey’ mother is Leigh Blaylock.
Melissa Reese is a ten year old fourth grader. Her
parents are Randy and Kathy Reese. Elizabeth
Matheny is an 11 year old sixth grader. Her parents
are Tom and Dianne Matheny.
John Hinds and his family recently celebrated his
graduation from the University of Kentucky. John
graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and
an M.B.A. During the school year of 1998 - 99, John
was chosen as a Honor Athlete for the Southeastern
Conference, He played soccer for years at Kentucky.
