CNA
Spotlight
Mae Jenkins became a CNA in
1996. She came to Lee County
Health Care in February of 2000.
She received her nurses' assistant
training in Albany. After coming
to work at Lee County , Mae be
came a Certified Alzheimer's
Caregiver and completed a course
in Restorative Care. One of Mae's
present goals is to become in
volved with the Alzheimer's So
ciety and learn more about help
ing those with this disease. Pres
ently Mae is working on our af
ternoon shift. She specializes in
caring for our male residents and
treats each of them like family.
Mae lives in Dawson, Georgia
- where she was born and raised.
She has one child, Anthony, who
lives in Dawson too. Mae has ex
tended her family and has a god
child who has three children and
she fills in as a third grandmother
to the children. If you ask Mae
what she enjoys most about her
work she'll quickly tell you: the
people - the special relationships
she develops and shares with
them. Mae has had a private duty
client for eight or nine years
through home health. She has
continued working with home
health and enjoys helping the eld
erly. Voted "Employee of the
Month" for July 2001, Mae is
well liked by her co-workers and
residents.
Lee County Health Care is for
tunate to work with CNA's such
as Mae. It is with pleasure that we
Spotlight Mae and commend her
for the care and concern that she
gives to our residents.
