EM Joy THE NEW YEAE-S EVE
PARTY/ WAVE PUN/
by Evelyn Ludvigson
Q. I remember when the fall
TV season started, you men
tioned something about Kevin
James (“King of Queens”) los
ing weight. He looks the same
to me. What were you thinking?
Wendy K.
A. James did lose 40 pounds
over the summer. However, he’s
regained the weight, something
he’d predicted might happen.
Co-star Leah Remini says, “He
takes some weight off, then
it’s ‘Well, I had that. Might as
well have some ice cream. ’ The
next morning, it’s ‘Why do I
feel so bad? I’d better go back
on my diet. I’ll start Monday’.”
Anyone who’s ever struggled
with those extra pounds has to
empathize. It’s a constant battle,
Q. I love the guy who plays
Potsie on “Happy Days.” I
watch the show on TV Land. He
had such a beautiful voice, too!
Tell me, did he pursue a singing
career when the show ended? I
haven’t seen or heard anything
about him at all. Linda M.
A. Anson Williams, now 51
years old, is a respected televi
sion director, having helmed
episodes for such shows as
“Lizzie McGuire,” “Charmed,”
“7th Heaven” and “Baywatch.”
To my knowledge, he hasn’t
done any singing. Occasion
ally, he’ll do a guest spot on a
sitcom, as he did in a parody of
“Happy Days” on “Boy Meets
World.” Tom Bosley, who
played Howard Cunningham,
also appeared on the same
episode.

of the “90210” reunion last
May? Is it because of her feud
with co-star Shannen Doherty?
That’s what a friend told me.
Paula D.
A. Tori denies that. She says
she didn’t participate because
it was harder for her than other
cast members to move past the
show. That’s because her father,
Aaron Spelling, was the mogul
behind “90210.” She claims
that, although she and Shan
nen don’t hang out together
on a regular basis, they’re still
friendly when they do see each
other.
Q. I am a fan of classic mov
ies. Recently, I saw one I’d
never heard of before. It was “I
Married a Witch” with Veronica
Lake and Fredric March on
Turner Classic Movies. Al
though the flick was made in
1942, could it have been the in
spiration behind the TV series,
“Bewitched”? Norma L.
A. Actually, it was. In the film,
Veronica portrayed a vampish
17th-century witch who goes to
1942 New England to give gu
bernatorial candidate Fredrich
March, a descendant of the Pu
ritan judge who condemned her,
a hard time. Of course, instead
of exacting her revenge, the two
fall in love. While that wasn’t
the premise of the TV show,
the concept of witch marrying
mortal remained.
Q. I am sick to death of Paris
Hilton! I can’t pick up a news
paper or watch television with
out hearing or seeing something
of her. lust who is she anyway?
Jan S.
A. Paris’ main claim to fame
is that she’s the heir to the $360
million Hilton hotel fortune.
That’s about it. I agree with
you, too. She’s gotten more than
her 15 minutes of fame. That
she even got a TV show was
mind-boggling, considering the
fact that she is not an actress!

Jesus knew what it meant
to be resolute. He knew His
