Last week Kinchafoonee Primary School was full of excited campers and
involved parents. Each family in Mrs. McDaniel’s second grade class prepared
a care package with treats and a personal letter from home for their happy
camper as the entire class journeyed to “Camp Friendship.” It wasn’t a long
trip, just to the center of the classroom, but it was definitely exciting. At the
end of this innovative language arts experience the weary travelers just had
to sit down and write letters home telling about their wonderful camping
experience. Now that really was something to write home about!

Northern states have been using The Icynene® Insulation System for more than 15 years to keep their
homes warmer in those rigid cold temperatures and lowering their heatings costs up to 50%. Our hot
summers makes it just as difficult and expensive to cool our homes so why not use the best technology
available? Icynene® insulated homes can be heated and cooled with smaller, less expensive HVAC
equipment which just continues to add to the savings and that is just the beginning of the benefits!
With Asthma rates on the rise you need to know that The Icynene® Insulation System also helps to
improve the quality of the indoor air you and your family breathe. It’s reduces random air leakage and
limits the penetration of outdoor allergens and pollutants. By forming an air seal it helps to prevent
condesation and reduces the potential for mold growth within walls and ceilings. This air sealing
capability gives you a healthier, longer-lasting and even quieter home by minimizing airborne sounds
and comes with a lifetime warranty!

Fire Dept.
Sends Water
Special to the Ledger
By Joe Pollock
Lee County Fire Chief
The members of the Fee
County Fire Department came
together over the weekend to
help the victims of Hurricane
Katrina. In response to a com
munication from the Decatur
County Fire Department,
local firefighters and Com
munity Emergency Response
Team (C.E.R.T) members
rallied together and contrib
uted more than $1800.00
in a couple of hours. This
money was used to purchase
six pallets of water and on
Saturday it was delivered to
Bainbridge to the Decatur
County Fire Headquarters.
Private citizens, along with a
couple of businesses, deliv
ered the water and supplies to
small communities in Loui
siana and Mississippi. These
communities, very much
like Lee County, were in
dire need of water and other
essentials. State and Federal
assistance has tended to focus
on the larger communities but
smaller, remote areas ben
efited from our efforts.
On behalf of the Fee County
Fire Department, I would
like to thank the following
individuals and businesses for
their help and support in this
effort:
• Mr. Ray Clark, for the use
of a trailer and pallet jack
• Wal-Mart and Asst. Mgr.
Eddie Nixon, for the availabil
ity of water
• Sam’s Club and Herbert
Brown, for availability of
water
• Nafeco, Tommy Johnson
and Dennis Deal, for transport
of items
• Decatur County Fire Dept,
for inviting our support in this
effort.
• The members of the Lee
County Fire Dept., C.E.R.T
members and their families
for their immediate and
unselfish support and contri
butions
