Darwin’s Theory
Has your desperation factor
exceeded your embarrassment
factor yet?
God is looking for desper
ate people. A testimony was
shared at church this week by
a mom who was desperate for
the Lord. Usually we get des
perate when we have a great
need, and this is usually when
we see God do His greatest
work. In this mom’s case her
son was having surgery, and
she searched her soul to make
sure everything was right
between she and God. She
shared how God had brought
her son through surgery. She
also shared how God led her
to quit smoking during the
time leading up to her son’s
surgery. To the glory of God,
she shared that she had quit
smoking without any patches,
gum, etc... but by God’s power.
Are you looking for “intelli
gence for life’’ in all the wrong
places?
Instead of looking on TV,
in books, on the computer,
and on the radio, why not
look where real intelligence
of life comes from... the
Bible and prayer. How long
will you go on living in your
bondage? The lame man at
the Pool of Bethesda went
thirty-eight years (John 5:
5). Jesus asked him a simple
“yes/no’’ question, “Do you
wish to get well?’’. The man
did not answer yes. Instead he
said, “Sir, I have no man to
put me into the pool when the
water is stirred up, but while
I am coming, another steps
down before me.’’ Did you
catch what he said... I have no
man to put me into the pool.
He had the One who created
the water in the pool standing
before him, yet he was looking
for the ability of man to get
him well. Jesus healed him,
and he immediately got up
after thirty-eight long years.
Guess what? There was no
need for rehabilitation therapy.
There is nothing Jesus can’t
cure.
What is your pool? Is it
man’s wisdom found in a
book, or on some website?
Maybe your pool is your own
ability. Some people’s theme
song is “I Did It My Way.”
Your theme song needs to be
“I Did It God’s Way” because
God can run your life better
than you can. Let me apply it
where many Christian either
thrive or survive: God can run
your life better with ninety
percent of your income than
you can with one hundred
percent of your income. I chal
lenge you to try it and see. He
is a fool to trust any other pool
than Jesus.
Who is your man? Are
you looking to some man or
woman to solve your prob
lems? If you are, they better
be pointing you to The Man...
Jesus. I talked with a person
the other day who told me
most of their coworkers were
on medication just to be able
to cope with life. For a time
period medication is good, but
we were not designed to live
on medication. My friend, if
this is where you are living,
you are seeing the wrong man.
You have the Son of Man
standing right in front of you,
and He is asking you, “Do you
wish to get well?” Let your
desperation factor exceeded
your embarrassment factor...
and say, “Yes” to Him today.

What The Bible Teaches
By Frank Taylor
The Lord Jesus Christ
warned there would be fam
ines and
pestilenc
es and
earth
quakes in
various
places
(Matthew
24). We
cannot
turn
on the
television today without see
ing somebody trying to raise
money to feed the hungry.
Displaced by war and weath
er, millions across our world
will go to bed hungry tonight.
And as we draw closer to the
end time, Jesus declared that
these tragic conditions would
continuously escalate.
And earthquakes? They
are often on the minds of
folks living in earthquake
prone areas such as Califor
nia, Pakistan, Japan, and etc.
In the tenth century, there
were 32 earthquakes. In the
fifteenth century, there were
147 earthquakes. In the sev
enteenth century, there were
378 earthquakes. But in the
nineteenth, there were 2,119
earthquakes. There has been
just as drastic an increase in
intensity as there has been in
frequency. Ten of the thirteen
most devastating earthquakes
of all time have occurred in
the twentieth century. Of
some 68 major earthquakes
recorded in history, 46 have
occurred in the twentieth
century.
When Jesus spoke of
devastations, however. He
had more than earthquakes
in mind. Plagues like AIDS
and other deadly new viruses
now race across the globe. In
the United States, 350,000
have died of AIDS since the
epidemic began. Each year,
40,000 more are infected.
Currently, a total of 650,000
to 900,000 are believed to
be infected with HIV. All of
these signs indicate that the
time of Christ's return grows
nearer.
What does the Lord Jesus
say about all this? What’s
His commentary on today’s
worrisome headlines? “See
that you are not troubled; for
all these things must come to
pass” (Matthew 24:6).
What? Not troubled? Are
you kidding? What do you
mean, Lord? How could we
keep from being alarmed and
troubled by all the terrors
and devastations visiting our
planet?
Listen to it again: “And
Jesus answered and said to
them... "You will hear of
wars and rumors of wars. See
that you are not troubled.”'
Why? “For all these things
must come to pass, but the
end is not yet” (Matthew: 24:
4-6).
Jesus was telling His disci
ples that these rumblings and
shakings signal the beginning
of the end. The end is not
yet—but it’s in sight. Day by
day, it is drawing closer.
Have you ever driven along

You ’re the eloquence of sunshine in
aii the life of spring.
And when you join their presence the
birds enhance their sing.
You ’re the elegance of sharing; it
glows like summer’s sun.
It’s in doing unto others that brings
you so much fun.
You ’re the freshest breeze of autumn; you fill the air
with glee.
The trees begin their clapping with brightly colored
leaves.
You ’re the purest of the snowfalls, which some winter
places know.
With majesty and radiance you cause their lands to
glow.
No matter what the season or again the time of year,
You fill us with contentment; you fill our lives with
cheer.
Thanks, honey. Now you’ve gone and become a teenager this
week. Happy Birthday!

From Daddy
“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord;
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them:
They shall not be ashamed,
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.”
(Psalm 127:3-5)
