4-H’ers Present Awards
at Annual Banquet

The Lee County 4-H Club
recently held its annual 4-H
Awards Banquet to honor
4-H’ers in 5th - 12th grades
who competed in out-of-
county events and excelled
in 4-H over the past school
year. This year’s theme was
4-H: A Wave of Success. The
program was held at First
Baptist Church of Leesburg
and a catered luau style meal
was served. During the meal
guests were entertained by
local 4-H’er Demi Davis who
sang a selection from “Sues-
sical the Musical” after which
focal speaker, Laura Warren,
Georgia 4-H State Board
officer from Mitchell County
shared her experiences grow
ing up as a Mitchell County
4-H’er while encouraging Lee
County 4-H’ers to take advan
tage of all the opportunities
available through 4-H.
All 4-H’ers were presented
with certificates and pins.

nity service projects, attend
summer camp, rallies and
educational retreats, and chal
lenge in competitive events.

The Lee County Board of Commission
ers will hold the second public hearing to
consider and receive public comments
on an Impact Fee Ordinance. This public
hearing regarding Impact Fees will be held
Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 6:00 P.M. during
the regularly scheduled Lee County Board
of Commissioner's Regular Session meet
ing. This public hearing will be held at
the Lee County Board of Commissioner's
Administration Building Assembly Room
at 104 Leslie Highway, Leesburg, Georgia.
This meeting is open to the public and the
public is encouraged to attend.

Qualifying of candidates for the Novem
ber 7, 2006, Nonpartisan Election will be
hold June 26 - 30, 2006. Qualifying will
be held in the Elections and Registration
Office in the. Lee County Courthouse. The
qualifying period will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Monday, June 26th and will end at 12:00
noon on Friday, June 30th. The qualifying
fee for Board of Education (Districts I and
3) is $39.00.
