Special to the Ledger
The Lee County 4-H Club
recently held its annual 4-H
Awards Banquet to honor
4-H’ers in 5th - 12th grades
who competed in out-of-
county events and excelled
in 4-H over the past school
year. This year’s theme was
“Today a 4-H’er.. .Tomor
row a Dawg”! The program
was held at First Baptist
Church of Leesburg and a
tailgate style meal was pre
pared and served by parent
volunteers. During dinner
Senior 4-H’er Gabby John
son challenged the Clover-
leaf 4-H’ers to take advan
tage of all the opportunities
available through 4-H.
All 4-H’ers were pre
sented with certificates and
pins. Special awards were
given.
4-H emphasizes leader

Bream are still bedding
many places, with Crickets
being the bait. Our old and
dear friend A1 Carter took
a limit of Bream on Crick
ets and 4 were up to 2 lbs.
each. Oh how they must have
pulled!
The Hydrilla Gnats, Mike
Prindle, Paul Tyre and Andy
Koundourakis has long hair
down to their shoulders. In
this hot weather they have
to be in misery but it is for
a good cause. In November
they will cut the hair and
give it to a wig company who
makes wigs for kids who lost
their hair due to cancer. Good
Deed!! Nuf sed.
Bream has done good on
Crickets this week. Some
folks has taken big catches
home with them, pitchen
Crickets to the edge of the
grass beds. One boat lost the
last fish they caught while
trying to close the lid on the
cooler.
We had word from South
Florida that the Talapia down
there is treated as a rough
fish & they are let to use a
light and a gig to take them.
Someone needs to make that
decision - is it a rough fish or
a game fish?
