Food
from the Hood
By Keith Hood
I received the following
from a friend who didn’t
demand I return it to him
and 5 more
people
within 5
minutes
or my love
is phony.
I will,
therefore,
send it to
3,300+. Hood
You, how
ever, return it to me and 5
more people.
DID YOU KNOW?
As you walk up the steps
to the building which
houses the U.S. Supreme
Court you can see near
the top of the building
a row of the world’s law
givers and each one is fac
ing one in the middle who
is facing forward with a
full frontal view ...it is
Moses and he is holding
the Ten Commandments!
DID YOU KNOW?
As you enter the Su
preme Court courtroom,
the two huge oak doors
have the Ten Command
ments engraved on each
lower portion of each
door.
DID YOU KNOW?
As you sit inside the
courtroom, you can see
the wall, right above
where the Supreme Court
judges sit, a display of the
Ten Commandments!
DID YOU KNOW?
There are Bible verses
etched in stone all over
the Federal Buildings and
Monuments in Washing
ton, D.C.
DID YOU KNOW?
James Madison, the
fourth president, known
as “The Father of Our
Constitution” made the
following statement:
“We have staked the
whole of all our politi
cal institutions upon the
capacity of mankind for
self-government, upon the
capacity of each and all
of us to govern ourselves,
to control ourselves, to
sustain ourselves accord
ing to the Ten Command
ments of God.”
DID YOU KNOW?
Patrick Flenry, that pa
triot and Founding Father
of our country said:
“It cannot be empha
sized too strongly or too
often that this great nation
was founded not by reli
gionists but by Christians,
not on religions but on the
Gospel of Jesus Christ”.
DID YOU KNOW?
Every session of Con
gress begins with a prayer
by a paid preacher, whose
salary has been paid by
the taxpayer since 1777.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fifty-two of the 55
founders of the Constitu
tion were members of
the established orthodox
churches in the colonies.
DID YOU KNOW?
Thomas Jefferson wor
ried that the Courts would
overstep their authority
and instead of interpreting
the law would begin mak
ing law ...an oligarchy ...
the rule of few over many.
DID YOU KNOW?
The very first Supreme
Court Justice, John Jay,
said:
“Americans should se
lect and prefer Christians
as their rulers.”
How, then, have we
gotten to the point that ev
erything we have done for
230 years in this country
is now suddenly wrong
and unconstitutional?
“Now the Lord is the
Spirit, and where the
Spirit of the Lord is there
is liberty.”(2 Corinthians
3:17)

God, we can then learn to see
things from God’s perspec
tive and become a peacemak
er. Let me illustrate this point
with a story. There were two
deacons who had been fuss
ing over an old fence that was
between their houses. They
argued so much the two men
eventually stopped talking
to one another. Then one of
them, wanting to make peace
brought his Bible to that
fence and asked his friend
to read it while he prayed. “I
can’t read it” the man said,
“I forgot my glasses.” So the
first man suggested, Here,
use mine.” As they read the
Bible and prayed together
those two men found peace.
As the one man handed back
the other’s glasses he said,
“You know, that old fence
really looks different through
your glasses.” That’s exactly
what a peacemaker does. He
sees through the eyes of the
other person to bring them
together.
As a result of having peace
with God, God has given us
the ministry to help others
to make peace with God.
2 Corinthians 5:20 tells us
that we are “ambassadors for
Christ”. An ambassador de
scribes someone who served
as a representative of a king
from one country to another.
We are to be messengers/
ambassadors representing the
King of Kings, the King of
heaven. Here is a question I
want you to think and pray
about: “Who do you need
to share the Good News of
peace with so that they can
experience peace with God?”
Don’t procrastinate because
“one day” may be too late.
