Horace Hudgins to
Run for State Senate
Special to the Ledger
Horace L. Hudgins, the
21-year manager of the local
Georgia Power Company
office, announced today his
plans to run for the District
13 State Senate seat, recently
vacated by Joseph Carter.
Encouraged by friends,
family, community leaders
and associates to enter the
Senate race, Hudgins feels
his conserva
tive values
and commit
ment to open
government
will serve
him well in
the state of
fice. “People
know and
trust my lead
ership and my
commitment
to the citizens
and business
es of South
Georgia,’’ he
said.
Hudgins has provided
community leadership

director and president of
the Ocilla/Irwin County

“I am deeply committed
to the growth and prosperity
of this area and its citizens,’’
said Hudgins, who served
several years as Chairman of
the Ocilla/Irwin County De

area needs more businesses
and industries to provide
good quality

ensure solid
economic

Education
must remain
a priority,
especially
concerning
our college

because
a well-

more businesses and higher

Other priorities on the

agricultural industry.
“All of these areas are
fundamental to the qual

Hudgins, who plans to
retire from Georgia Power

his attention full-time to
the Senate seat. “I want to
take our concerns and needs
