Commissioner Roland has some support on the
commission for emergency service for north Lee
County. Commissioner Ed Duffy, you are the man.
My family really needs insurance. I need a part-
time job with the county. I should have run for
commission. Since it is too late for that, maybe I
can just be a paper pusher for someone.
We done our part and voted, now it is up to the
politicians to take their oath of office and do what
is right for the citizens.
The time is now to provide a decent facility for
the animals at the land fill. We don't need a monu
ment dedicated to someone, just a decent facility
that will keep the animals out of elements.
I wish more people would take the responsibility
of voting serious. We need to be very serious in
November.
At least the school board gets it. Hatcher said
that they wouldn't have to raise taxes if the county
would make Grand Island commercial property.
The condition of Smithville Road is beyond ridicu
lous. I realize that it is' not in the preferred Albany
end of Lee County, but we North Lee Countians also
pay taxes and need decent roads. I thought for a
while that something was about to happen because
of the orange and white spray painted markings
around some of the potholes, but they have faded
away. No further signs of any activity. Looks like we
will have to buy a four-wheeled drive truck just to
go to and from work.
I hope all the candidates remember where they
put their signs so that they can start picking them
up.

Internet, consumers should
not be concerned that their
cell phone numbers will be
released to telemarketers in
the near future, the Commis
sion is stressing.
Moreover, it is not necessary
to register cell phone num
bers on the National Do Not
Call (DNC) Registry to be
protected from most telemar
keting calls to cell phones.
The truth about cell phones
and the DNC Registry is:
* Contrary to the e-mail,
cell phone numbers are not
being released to telemarket
ers, and you will NOT soon
be getting telemarketing calls
on your cell phone.
* There is no deadline by
which you must register your
cell phone number on the
Registry.
* Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) regula
tions prohibit telemarketers
from using automated dialers
to call cell phone num
bers. Automated dialers are
standard in the industry, so
most telemarketers are barred
from calling consumers on
their cell phones without their
consent.

National DNC Registry and
the rules that enforce it, visit
the FTC at www.ftc.gov or the
FCC at www.fcc.gov.
