Stealth Bomberz win
Grand Slam World Series
Special to the Ledger
The 8 and under Stealth
Bomberz won the Grand
Slam World Series of
Baseball in Panama City
Beach, Florida held July
7th through the 13th. The
Stealth Bomberz clinched
the championship title by
defeating the MLAB Texas
Bandits from Houston,
Texas 10-6. The Stealth
Bomberz were undefeated
throughout the entire
World Series, and the
entire 2008 8 and under
Grand Slam coach pitch
tournament season. After
taking home ten Grand
Slam tournament trophies,
the Stealth Bomberz were
also awarded with the
2008 Grand Slam Division
Cup Trophy.

pure in thought, speech,
and conduct. James 1:
27 tells us, “this is pure
and undefiled religion in
the sight of our God and
Father, to keep oneself
unstained by the world.’’
The second way we are
to be salt of the earth is to
make others thirsty for Je
sus. The question is, “Are
you being salty enough to
make people thirsty for
Jesus?” We are to live our
lives in such a way that
people will want what we
have.
A third way that we can
be the salt of the earth is
by being a preservative
agent. During Jesus’ time
on earth, salt was the most
common preservative.
There were no refrigera
tors or freezers. The only
way to preserve meat was
to salt it down or soak it
in a saline solution. As
Christians we are to be a
preserving influence on

World Class baseball team
and now includes play
ers Gunnar Watson and
Jake Pounds from Taylor
County, Hunter Goodwin
from Worth County, and
Davis Spalinger from
Dougherty County. The
team who had worked
so hard together and had
finally started to see the
results of their dedication
in the fall of 2007, was set
back when teammate and
left fielder Kolby Barbosa
was hospitalized in an At
lanta hospital for an AVM.
After months of prayer
and rehabilitation by his
family, team, and commu

society. We are to slow
down the moral and spiri
tual decay that is going on
in the world. The evidence
that we have been used
by God as a preserving
agent is that things are
becoming spiritually bet
ter around us instead of
worse.
Here are some questions
to determine your “salti
ness quotient”:
1. Look at you family.
Are you preserving it from
the destructive influences
that surround you?
2. Examine your
workplace. Are the sinful
influences in your work
environment being halted
because you are there?
3. Observe your com
munity. Is it a better place
because you are involved
in it?
4. Think about your
church. What are you do
ing to make your church
more effective in influenc
ing the world to come to
know Jesus as Lord and
Savior?
The Stealth, through all
their weekend tournaments
has also received the title
of the 2008 Georgia State
Wheel Pitch Champions,
and the Grand Slam North
Georgia State Champions
in Coach Pitch. Although
this team of all 8 year olds
have won in the coach
pitch and wheel pitch style
tournaments, the team has
challenged their pitching
abilities and have played in
two 9 and under kid pitch
tournaments, one 10 and
under kid pitch tournament
and has placed second in
all three tournaments. The
Stealth is looking forward
to moving up in August to
the 9 and under bracket to
play kid pitch, and excited
to face whatever chal
lenges lie ahead for the
upcoming season.
