Charles Moore reports that
officers worked several
cases and incidents recently
including cases involv
ing driving while license
suspended or revoked,
excessive volume from
radio within motor vehicle,
expired tag, failure to
maintain lane, operating
unsafe vehicle, no proof
of insurance, headlight
requirement, possession
of marijuana less than an
ounce, driving under the
influence, possession - use
of drug related object,
speeding, criminal trespass,
and theft by taking.
Corey Sherrod Davis, of
Americus, Georgia, was
stopped on Park Street for
excessive volume from
radio within motor vehicle
by Ptl. Marcus Lemacks.
A check through dispatch
revealed that Davis’ license
was suspended for failure
to appear on several occa
sions. He was placed under
arrest and transported to
the jail by Capt. Chris
Prokesh.
Odelua Rivera Cisneros,
of Second Street, Leesburg,
was charged with driving
while license suspended or
revoked, expired tag, and
failure to maintain lane,
and no proof of insurance
July 20 by Capt. Chris
Prokesh. Capt. Prokesh
was notified by a deputy
that Cisneros was swerv
ing over the road and Capt.
Prokesh made a traffic
stop.
Michael A. Hardin,
of 655 Mclendon Road,
Dawson, was charged with
headlight requirements,
possession of marijuana
less than an ounce, driving
under the influence - drugs
first offense and possession
of drug related object July
19 by Capt. Chris Prokesh.
Capt. Prokesh made a traf
fic stop on Hardin because
his vehicle had only one
headlight and did not stop
fully for a stop sign. When
the officer approached the
vehicle, he could smell the
odor of burnt marijuana.
Officers used the drug
sniffing dog on the outside
of the vehicle. Marijuana
was located in the vehicle
and the arrest was made.
Taylor Blake Brookerd, of
113 Covey Ct., Leesburg,
was charged July 17 with
speeding in excess of
maximum limits and driv
ing under the influence
- under 21 years of age
(first offense by Ptl. Jeffery
Fordham. While running
radar on GA 3 and Hwy
19 bypass, Ptl. Fordham
observed Brookerd speed
ing and made a traffic stop.
When the traffic stop was
made, Ptl. Fordham detect
ed a strong odor of alcohol
coming from Brookerd’s
breath. He tested positive
on the alco-sensor and the
charges were made.
