Tiana and the Mad Hatter.
Everyone made their own
tiara followed by a “table
manners” lesson provided
by Mrs. Pat Tharpe.
Then of course, there
was Tea Time with tea
party goodies to eat and
hot tea, lemonade or water
to drink. Participants then
had time to make a second
craft; a tea party fan and
mingle more with the Prin
cesses and Princes. They
even had the opportunity
to have their picture taken
with their friends, or with
their favorite princess and/
or prince. You can view
photos on Facebook (Bent
Creek Photography) or
visit their website (www.
bentcreekphoto.com).
Everyone left with a goody
bag provided by The Pink
Slipper, their porcelain
tea cup and saucer, their
tiara and fan craft and an
afternoon full of fun and
exciting memories.
A special thank you to
the students from Lee
County High School
Drama Classes who por
trayed all of the characters.
Also, thanks to LCHS The
atre Department and the
Dawson Theatre for help
ing dress the characters.
A very special thank you
to members of the Lee
County Youth Council who
provided great support by
helping set-up and deco
rate for the event and who
helped serve, worked with
the crafts and cleaned up
after the event. Students
from the middle school,
9th grade and high school
youth councils all provided
tremendous support for this
event. Without their help,
the event would have not
been possible.
Thank you to the mem
bers of the community that
so graciously volunteered
their time and talents be
hind the scenes, preparing
the food, working in the
kitchen, helping to man
age the crowds. Everyone
pulled together to make
our tea party great. This
quote by Laing Burns, Jr.
“There’s no limit to what
man can achieve, if he
doesn’t care who gets the
credit” was lived out on
Saturday, as every person
that was involved came
together for the success of
the event. Plan are already
underway for the 2nd An
nual Princess Tea Party in
2011.
