Conservation
Loans Available to
Georgia Farmers
and Ranchers
Special to the Ledger
David Laster, Farm Loan
Chief with the USDA Farm
Service Agency (FSA),
reminds farmers and
ranchers that the Agency
will make and guarantee
Conservation Loans (CL)
to producers who want to
promote conservation on
their land as well as con
serve the country’s natural
resources.
Many farmers who need
and want to implement
conservation measures on
their land do not have the
“up front” funds avail
able to implement these
practices.
“I encourage produc
ers who want to conserve
natural resources and need
a source of financing to
implement conservation
measures to apply for cred
it through this program,”
said Laster. “It is a great
opportunity for producers
to remain good stewards of
the land,” Laster said.
Producers can apply
for conservation loans to
improve or implement
conservation practices on
their land, as long as the
practice is approved by the
Natural Resources Conser
vation Service (NRCS).
According to Laster,
producers who do not
currently have an existing
conservation plan should
visit NRCS to develop one
prior to requesting Con
servation Loan Program
assistance.
Examples of conserva
tion practices include the
installation of conservation
structures, establishment
of forest cover, installa
tion of water conservation
measures, establishment or
improvement of permanent
pastures, implementation
of manure management
and the adaptation of
other emerging or exist
ing conservation practices,
techniques or technologies.
Direct CLs are avail
able at your local FSA
office with loan limits up
to $300,000. Guaranteed
CLs with limits up to
$1,119,000 are available
from lenders who partici
pate in FSA’s guaranteed
loan program.
For more information on
the CL program, contact

Belle is really enjoying one of the three beds
that were donated by Ms. Diane Fentem. Lee
County Animal Control can not thank her
enough for her generous donation of beds for
the animals to lie on. If you are interested in
donating a bed go to this web address http://
kuranda.com/donate/5533. The prices for
different sizes are located there. These beds
will help keep the animals off the cement floor.
The staff and the animals appreciate any and
all donations.
Believe
by Delores Hall
Believe in our Lord for he is real
Everyday say a prayer, for he is listening
Love your family and friends as you love yourself
Inspire someone today, as someone once inspired you
Enjoy your day and smile at all who comes your way
Victory can be yours, if you help someone along the
way
Every day could be our last, don’t dwell on the past.
One of the hardest things we have to do, is forgive
our enemies, as the Lord tells us to.
If you believe everyday, good things will come your
way
We will have some sorrow, we will have some pain
but if we beleive it will work out in the end
He never promised a life full of gain, he never prom
ised a life without pain
He only promised, that if we beleieve, one day we’ll
have a home that we will never leave.
