Gloria Ann Hughes
Gloria Ann Hughes,
80, of Lee County, GA,
died May 5, 2022 at
Phoebe Putney Memori
al Hospital. The family
will hold memorial
services on Thursday,
May 12th at 2:00 pm at
First Baptist Church of
Putney
Mrs. Hughes was born
on October 1, 1941 in
Leslie, GA to Johnny
and Kathleen Dean.
She graduated from
Leslie High School and
moved to Perry, GA.
She married in 1961
and moved with her
husband to Ft. Camp
bell, KY. Mrs. Hughes
moved to Albany in
1963 and Lee County in
1984. She was employed
with Firestone Tire and
Rubber Company and
was employed there until
its closure. Mrs. Hughes
was a Christian. She was
preceded in death by
her husband, Gordon W.
Hughes.
Survivors include her
sons, Jeffry Evans of
Albany, GA and Danny
(Norma) Evans of Lee
County, GA, five sib
lings, Earlene Thornton
and Earnestine (Chuck)
Hurley all of Lee Coun
ty, GA, Charlie Dean,
Earl (Pam) Dean and
William “Jiggs” (Betty
Ann) Dean all of Perry,
GA, her grandchildren,
Christopher (Ingrid)
Evans and Jeremy Evans
all of Lee County, GA,
Matthew Evans and
Carrie Tanner both of
Worth County, GA and
her great-grandchildren,
Isabella Evans, Sophia
Evans, Nathan Allen
Tanner, Reese Little and
Zachary Tanner.

Wayne Jerome Corley,
56, of Lee County, GA,
died May 7, 2022 at his
residence. Graveside fu
neral services were held
Tuesday, May 10, 2022
at the Leesburg City
Cemetery. Ross Powell
officiated.
Wayne was born on
December 21, 1965 in
Albany, GA to Ben and
Fannie Corley and grew
up in Lee County. He
graduated from Lee
County High School
in 1984. Wayne was
employed as a truck
driver with Southeastern
Frozen Foods, AC/Delco
and retired from Ryder.
Wayne was a Southern
Baptist by faith, a Geor
gia Bulldog Fan, an avid
Star Wars Fan, loved
NASCAR especially
Dale Earnhardt and also
collecting knives.
Survivors include his
two daughters, Amber
(Trent) Moss of Lee
County, GA and Taylor
(Michael) Hill of Spring-
field, GA, his siblings,
Steve (Maryjane) Corley,
Sr., Craig Corley and
Gene Corley all of Lee
County, GA and Marie
(Ray) Thayer of Jack
sonville, FL, his grand
children, Braden Moss,
Callie Corley, Weston
Ford, Ava Davis and
Greyson Hill and several
nieces and nephews.
The family would like

Hospice, the Lee County
EMS and Dr. Sansi for
all they did.

Michael “Pedro”
Edward Egler, II, 48 of
Leesburg, GA., passed
away Saturday, May 7,
2022, at Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital. A
Memory Celebration

Mr. Egler was born
June 23, 1973, son of
Mary Faulkner Egler
and the late Michael
Edward Egler, I. He was
a heavy equipment oper
ator. He loved to fish and
chase an elusive alligator
that kept breaking his
fishing rods. Ask his
sister Ellen who lost one
or two of her rods to that
alligator.
He is survived by his

He was preceded in
death by Father Big
Mike, maternal grand
parents Henry and Cor-
dia Rackley Faulkner,
Paternal grandparents
Donald Egler and Ellen
Rapp Fordham,
Michael was a grad
uate of The Middle
College of Georgia in
Heavy equipment. He
worked for Kerb Truck
ing Co. until recently
when he started helping
his brother in the Lawn
Care Business. He was
a hard worker, funny,
aggravating and deter
mined. No matter how
tough he was having it
he was always ready to
help others. He had a big
heart. And as his reward
for helping others, God
took him home to a bet
ter fishing hole and creek
where he can catch fish
and the elusive Alligator.
Pedro you will be missed
by a multitude of people
who will remember your
humor and kindness and
silliness. It will be with
a smile and a memory as
you live on.
Michael Berlin O’Mary
Michael Berlin
O’Mary, 42, of Albany,
passed away on Wednes
day, April 27, 2022, at
Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital. In his last labor
of love, Michael was able
to give the gift of life
through organ donation.
A memorial service
honoring his life was
held at 5:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, May 10, 2022,
in the Chapel of Joseph
W. Jones Funeral Home.
Born September 14,
1979, in Albany, Mi
chael was the son of
Keith Michael and Gail
Watson O’Mary. He
received his associates
degree from Albany
Technical College and
went on to work as a
maintenance technician
in the electrical field. In
his free time, he loved
to hunt, fish, and get
out on the lake. Michael
was a huge GA Bull
dogs fan and enjoyed
life with his friends
and family. A beloved
son, brother, uncle, and
friend, he will be great
ly missed by all who
knew him.
He was preceded in
death by his grandpar
ents, Woodrow and
Kate Watson, and Hank
and Ruby Davis.
Those left to cherish
his memory include
his parents, Keith and
Gail O’Mary of Fort
Gaines; sister, Kelly
Bridges (David Valis) of
Leesburg; two nephews,
Brady and Colt Bridges;
niece, Jessi Bridges; the
love of his life, Melissa
Jones of Albany; and his
beloved pups, Scooter,
Harley, and Elbe.

Bonnie Sue Patterson
Robinson
Bonnie Sue Patterson
Robinson, age 67, of
Albany passed from
this life into the wait
ing arms of Jesus on
May 1, 2022, following
a lengthy battle with
cancer.
Bonnie was born in
Lucedale, MS to the
late William C. “Pat”
and Gladys Fairley
Patterson. Bonnie grad
uated Salutatorian from
George County High
School in 1972 and
earned her RN designa
tion at Mobile Infirma
ry School of Nursing
in 1974. Following a
long nursing career, she
retired in 2020 from
Children’s Medical Ser
vices in Albany, GA.
Bonnie is survived
by her husband of 43
years, Doug Robinson,
and by a son, Andrew
of Warner Robins, GA,
and a daughter, Amy
Cash of Leesburg, GA,
three grandchildren,
Colton Robinson, and
Jackson and Emery
Cash.
She is also survived
by a sister, Dixie
Wilkerson of Lucedale,
MS, brother, William
(Johnson) Patterson of
Leakesville, MS, and
was preceded in death
by a sister, Barbara Lee
of Wilmer, AL.
Above all, Bonnie
was a committed fol
lower of Jesus Christ
and attended Grace
City Church in Lees
burg, GA. Devoted to
her family, she spent
lots of time with her
grandkids and attended
every school function
and sporting event
possible. She loved to
listen to contemporary
Christian music wheth
er at home or while
traveling.
Funeral services will
be conducted by Bon
nie’s nephew, Rev. Will
Wilkerson, at Pleasant
Hill UMC in Lucedale,
MS. At a future date
TBD the family will
conduct a Celebration
of Life service for Bon
nie in Albany.

name of Bonnie Rob
inson.

the upcoming primary
election to be held May
24, 2022 for county
district 1 commission
er seat. My goals as a
Commissioner will be
to have better roads and
bridges that are much
needed for our safe travel
through district 1 area.
I also plan to be a part
of this funding through
the infrastructure bill
that has been allocated
by Congress. Another
goal I have is to get both
fire stations active by
providing full emergen
cy services in the district
1 area. Providing these
fire stations
will in turn
lower costs
for insurance
by shorten
ing travel
time to fires,
accidents, and
other needed
services as
required. An
other goal is to help with
the need for more hous
ing in the Smithville GA
area. For example, apart
ments and other housing
needs. In addition to
housing needs comes
other additional needs,
such as a quality grocery
store/small strip center
that will shorten travel
distances for citizens of
Smithville, GA.
As stated previ
ously, I would
like to be a part
of providing a
greater quality
of life for all Lee
Countians. Espe
cially making the
Senior Citizens
Center active
again in order for seniors
to have a fellowship
meeting location which
impacts their livelihood.
