Page 4A, The Lee County Ledger, Wednesday, May 25,2022 Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Special to the Ledger By Kate Scarmalis Negativity, we sure got a lot of that, both far and near. You can’t win an argument on its merits? Defame your opponent. Drag him through the mud if you can. It’s easier and a lot more effective than to market your own cause. This is the blueprint of the Democratic party. Use any available crisis to advance your agenda. Scare the pajamas off the populace, make them feel unsafe in their own homes, and the sheep will follow you any where. Augment the fear. Take grannie and shove her into a senior care facility. Take one and all, even if they are sick. The old geezers are dying by the thousands, quarantined away from relatives who could give them final comfort on their deathbeds. It’s not your fault. You are Democrat. Wear a mask. Wear two. They don’t work, but people must wear them anyway. Take the jab. Take two. Continue to wear the useless mask. Force it on your two-year-old. If you get CoVid any way, at least the vaccine has saved your life. Well, mostly. . . People are finding the effects of CoVid are long-lasting. Or is it the vaccine? Who knows? A number of research- Wax myrtle is a shrub that requires very little care. It can be used as a screen or a specimen plant in the landscape. Wax Myrtle The southern wax myrtle is a plant native to Georgia. It grows several feet tall and requires almost no care, making it an excellent plant to use as a screen, provided you have the space to allow it to spread out, as this bush normally does. Their height and width are normally in the ten to fifteen feet range. This is a good plant to use where deer browsing is a problem as deer do not bother it. The wax myrtle has an irregular, “bushy” form. It has narrow, olive-col ored leaves that have a dull surface. This is not a “neat” little symmet rical plant. It is one that grows with irregular form. It is attractive with its own character. It can be pruned as a hedge or limbed up to form a small tree. Wax myrtles will do very well in sandy soils with very poor fertility, but also do well in clay soils. I have seen these growing wild just off of the beach on Jekyll Island, as well as on sandy soil in southwest Georgia. Although wax myrtles can grow in soil with low fertility (as evi denced by wax myrtles growing in beach sand on Jekyll Island), they respond to good soil fertility and watering. With adequate water and fertility, they grow rapidly. They do well in full sun or moderate shade. Patients have begun to report symptoms long after they have recovered from the more serious symptoms of the disease. They have experienced serious, long-lasting health prob lems after a CoVid-19 vaccine, regardless of the manufacturer. The National Insti tutes of Health (NIH) began to hear of patients complaining of long term symptoms. Re searchers sought to learn more, bringing affected people to the agency’s headquarters for further review. An article published by Science.org has indicat ed that “A small number of other researchers worldwide is beginning to study whether the biology of Long CoVid, itself still poorly under stood, overlaps with the mysterious mechanisms driving certain postvac cine side effects.” Do not be alarmed. We have science on our side. Scientists never look away from evi dence. Unless they are Dem ocrats. It’s okay. We have the World Health Organi zation and the Center for Disease Control to protect us. Maybe not so much. Americans have been subjugated by the faucitization of science. Anthony Fauci spread so many contradictory conclusions about CoVid that even the most ded icated liberal cultural minions found wearing a mask in public to be pointless. And they didn’t. Consequently, Antho ny Fauci has fallen out of fashion. Fear not, Democrats. There will always be another crisis that will come along to meet your needs for bureaucratic control. Bill Gates - take it home, baby! Billionaire Bill Gates has predict ed that the CoVid deba cle has only just begun,, based on something referred to as “The Plan.” Published by the World Health Organization (WHO), the prediction is that the world will face 10 years of infectious diseases from 2020 to 2030. Gates made a state ment on a TED Talk that CoVid-19 was “Pandem ic One” and “Pandemic Two” is coming. “We’ll have to prepare for the next one. That will get attention this time,” he says — while smiling. Bill Gates is WHO’s number one funder, contributing more to its $4.84 billion biennial budget than any mem ber-state government. Not to put too fine a point on it, Bill Gates is a major player in WHO. Its 10-year pandemic plan is also Gates’ plan. A coming pandemic is disturbing enough, but the smiling faces of Bill Gates and Anthony Fau ci are simply disturbing. We are not smiling. But then, we are not Democrats. Society has been reduced to a mishmash of citizens who have been rendered power less by the plutocratic bureaucra cy Separat ed inter minably by CoVid restrictions, people truly no longer know how to behave. Isolated on our own properties for so long, we have become the beautiful people in our own land. No one can tell us what to do. Like good Democrats, we find justification for everything that we do. That our actions might have an effect on others around us? Fiddlesticks! There is that nonstop barking dog that keeps people awake all night long. The Sheriff’s Department doesn’t want to hear it. Truly, it’s not their responsibil ity to take care of every problem that arises in our lives. Dogs bark. Deal with it. An adjacent neighbor walks over to speak to the homeowner about his barking dog. The homeowner doesn’t want to hear it. With out giving his neighbor enough common respect to talk out the issue, he turns on a dime and legs it right into his house. In his castle, he is king. Trying to speak with someone like that is pointless. You would find that you are talking to yourself. This is not nice. We have gone from an integrated community to a loose connection of unconcerned people, unhindered by consid erations for their fellow man. So, you want to burn off wet leaves and green wood to clear your backyard? The sensible soul would wait for the material to dry out a bit, or at least wait until the wind dies down enough to carry the smoke aloft. So, you do it anyway. Clouds of smoke mush room across the entire neighborhood, result ing in a hazy mass of what looks like ground clouds. So, it goes on for hours? It’s not your problem. If there is a neighbor still fighting off the long-lasting symptoms of CoVid, you bear no responsibility for his situation. This is not nice. If only you knew how to be a neighbor. Kate Scarmalis, retired and loving life, is cur rently working on her novel, “Tell No Tales”. Kate Scarmalis Sharing the Word By Harry R. Martinez, Ph. D Prophecy, pt. 4 Many people are wondering what is going to happen next in a world that seems to be on a collision course for what is called Arma geddon. Currently there are approximately two hundred “hot spots” in which there is warfare, whether among nations or within them. Religious persecution against Christians has dramatically escalated. Even within so called “free nations” there is political and societal unrest pitting ethnic groups against one another. Moral values seem to have disinte grated. When the knowl edge of God is rejected, mankind succumbs to the base tendencies of the sin nature. “For al though they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened” (Rom 1:21 NIV). Furthermore, if the restraining force of Christianity weakens or is removed, evil increas es. Paul countered the false teaching that the persecution being expe rienced by believers was actually the Tribulation period spoken of in Old Testament prophecies. It was not, for the Church did not exist until the day of Pentecost. Paul warned ... “Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come un less the apostasy [depar ture, i.e., rapture] comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so- called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God” (2 Thess 2:3-4 NASB). Paul is identifying the antichrist, also known in Scripture as the King of the West [ruler of a European confedera tion], He is one of four kings who assembles his military forces for the purpose of exter minating the Jews and possessing the land of Palestine. Daniel wrote of a time of great trouble facing the Jews ... “And at the end time the king of the South [an Arab confederation] will col lide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen, and with many ships; and he will enter coun tries, overflow them, and pass through” (Dan 11:40 NASB). Satan’s objective is to destroy the Jews, but God is actually setting the stage to bring destruction on all the enemies of Israel and those who oppose God’s plan for Christ to rule on the earth from Jerusalem. The seemingly invin cible northern confeder ation suddenly faces an unforeseen obstacle. The king of the East [an Asi atic confederation] hav ing shown no interest in Palestine since the days of Geng his Khan, crosses the Euphrates. “And the sixth angel poured out his bowl [judgment] upon the great river, the Euphra tes; and its water was dried up, that the way might be prepared for the kings from the east” (Rev 16:12-13 NASB). Thus, the armies of four great world powers con verge against Jerusalem. All appears hopeless for the believing remnant of Jews fighting to defend their capital. Yet, these hostile armies will expe rience the most decisive and devasting defeat ever recorded in military history. Their defeat will be at the hands of Jesus Christ. A supernatural; darkness, like the one that covered the land when Christ died on the Cross for the sins of the world, will engulf the battlefields. Isaiah de scribed it... “for behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples” (Isa 60:2a NASB). Then suddenly, the Light of the World, the Lord Jesus Christ, returns to the earth. The prophet Zechariah records the final battle ... “Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle” (Zechl4:3 NASB). “Now this will be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth” (Zech 14:12 NASB). Thus ends the final bat tle of Armageddon with the enemies of Israel destroyed and the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ, ruling for a thou sand years as KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
