It was a busy meeting with sev eral awards. President Suzanne Mears opened the meeting and intro duced Lee County‘s star student, Kelly Kenne dy, and star teacher, Amy Cash. Both ladies were recognized at our meeting and given certificates and a gift of appreciation. Next, Club member Lisa Nelson, introduced the LCRE scholarship recipient for this year. Ja’Mia Walker was awarded a check for being our scholarship winner for this year. Keith Lee, Elaine Rucke, Missy Shiver, and Suzanne Mears Kelly Kennedy, and Suzanne Mears with Covid. He was extremely pleased with the way the teachers handled everything during Covid and said that the parents and students were also wonderful during this time. He then gave us an update on upcoming projects and things to look forward to for next year. Dr. Miller was so proud of Lee County teachers, students and parents and was excited about the next school year. After old new business the meeting was adjourned and club members and guests were treated to lunch. Leesburg students graduate from Thomas University Special to the Ledger The following students from Leesburg earned degrees from Thomas University and were recognized during Com mencement ceremonies on May 7, 2022. Stu dents awarded bachelor’s degrees may earn the distinction of graduat ing Summa Cum Laude (3.9 Cumulative Grade Point Average or high er), Magna Cum Laude (3.7 GPA or higher) or Cum Laude (3.5 GPA or higher). Associate of Arts honor graduates are those students who grad uate with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher. Megan Culp Cannon, Master of Science, Clin ical Mental Health & Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Katelyn Michelle Johnson, Bachelor of Science, Medical Labo ratory Science Ronnye Nelson Jr., As sociate of Science, Law Enforcement Jennifer Ryan Peets, Master of Education, Secondary English Amy Cash, Ja’Mia plans to pursue her degree in education majoring in secondary education. Keith Lee, our District Area Direc tor, was a guest at this meeting and installed the upcoming officers for the 2022-2023 year. Suzanne Mears was installed as President, Missy Shiver as Trea surer, and Elaine Ruckel as Secretary. After installation of officers, Dr. Miller gave the club an update on the school system and how everyone coped
