In Memorium
“There is a reaper whose name ix
death
And with his sickle keen.
He reaps the bearded grain at a
breath,
And the flowers that grow lie
tween.”
On the morning of December 29,
ere the stars grew dim the Al
mighty Reaper called for the spirit
of Ada Caudell. And like the
wise virgin, she was ready and
watching-for his coming. Hhe
fonghtagood fight, finished her
course and kept the faith. Her
life was one of purity and noble
iih. To know Ada was to love
her and her life was ax a rare sun
lieam brightening the pathway ot
all who knew her. Karly in life
the Saviour} knocked and (flic let
him into her heart where Christina
lave has reigned supreme. Her
character was one of good will, nn
nelfMraess and kindness. Tier na
ture, loving, tender and cheerful.
Jiaradma, noble, lofty and true.
It seemed so sail to give her up
while so young and she had just
Htartch well on life’s journey. Only
one thort year had she brightened
the home of her chosen companion.
Twas so sad to say frrowell to the
fire-side angel of the dear little
home, and see all its sunshine and
gladness pass so quickly away.
And to leave her companion so sad
and lonely. Hut it was God’s will
to call her home. Hhc was con
scious that death was approaching
but shedid not fear, for the ‘‘Lord
was her shepherd, yen when she
walked thru the valley of the shad
ow of death she feared no evil for
Ilia rod and staff comforted her.
She bade all her friends and rela
tives ft last good-bye and urged
then) to meet her in heaven, and
said it was sad lo leave them but
aha was ready to go. And when
the final moment came the veil
that curtains off this world from
that atx>ve was drawn aside and
she she saw her mother and the
angels at the gates of pearl. Then
the angel came and Ada was gone,
so quietly, so easily. And to her
•‘death was only a dream.” She
longed to ’see her Saviour face to
face nml we know of truth that
she is ‘‘asleep in Jesus.” \\ e
shonld not weep when such a tie
voted follower of Christ is freed
from this dark vale of sorrow tb
enjoy life eternal. To her heronv
ed husband and her relatives we
extend our heartfelt sympathy.
Be comforted, for just beyond the
blue Ada’s spirit is calling you all
to come up higher and form the
links in the chain of life eternal
that encircles the throne of God.
