We leant from trustworthy sources that
the mill aud timber men at Apalachicola
have gone Into a pooling arrangement by
which theV are enabled to control the
timber market there completely, and the
consequences is timber cutters and loggers
are left at their mercy. It is reported that
It is now Impossible to sell a raft of timber
on route SB that market, and thatonits
Arrival Utere these men name the prices;
and tbe owner, among them on expenses, is
obliged to sell at their figures. It is also
known that a stick of timber, the same
quality and kind, worth $17.00 at Darien,
brings only ?! 50 ;.t Apalachicola. Timber
cutters owe it to themselves and their
families to organize against such shameless
outrages. We publish thesa facts as wo
lo-irn them, and we doubt not but that
those directly interested cau find a
remedy.
