BLOOD
THE SOURCE OF ALE DISEASE
Every part of the body is dependent on the blood for nourishment and
strength. When thi» life stream is flowing through the system in a state of
purity and richness srt are assured of perfect and uninterrupted health;
Because pure blood is nature's safe-guaxd against disease. When, however,
the body is fed on weak, impure or polluted blood, the system is deprived of
its strength, disease germs collect,*and the trouble is manifested in various
ways. Pustular eruptions, pimples, rashes and the t different skin affectum*
show that the blood is in a feverish and diseased condition as a result of too
much acid or the presence at some irritating humor. Sores an<LJJlcers are
the result of morbid, unhealthy matter in the blood, and Rheumatism, Ca-
jlsrrh, Scrofula, Contagious Blood Poison, etc., ar~ r~*I deep-seated blood
disorders that will continue to grow worse M long as poison remains.
These impurities and poisons find their way into tne blood in various ways.
Often a si uggish, inactive condition of the system, And torphl state of the
; avenues of bodily waste, leaves the refuse and waste matter* to sour and
' form uric and other adds, which ore taken ur> by the blood and distributed
throughout the circulation. Coming in couuct with oontagious disessas is
another cause for the poisoning of the blood; we also breathe the germs and
microbes of Malaria Into our lungs, and when these get into the blood in
sufficient quantity it becomes a carrier of disease instead of health.* Some
are so unfortunate as to inherit bad blood, perhaps the dregs of some old
constitutional disease of ancestors is handed down*to them and they are
constantly annoyed and troubled with it. Bad blood is the source of all “
case, and until this vital fluid is cleansed and purified the body is
suffer in some way. For blood troubles of any character S. S. S. t
remedy ever discovered. It goes down into the circulation and r*C
•nd all poisons, supplies the healthful properties it needs, and com h ,
and permanently cures blood diseases'*of
every kind. The action of S. S. S. is so
thorough that hereditary taints are removed
and weak, diseased blood made strong and
healthy so that disease cannot remain. It
cures Rheumatism, Catarrh, Scrcfula ? Sores
and Ulcers, Skin Diseases, Contagions
Blood Poison, etc., and does not• leava the
lightest trace of the trouble for future outbreaks. The whole volume of
lood is renewed and cleansed after a course of S. S. £}. It is also nature Hi

Doing His Best.
¥ M. Tilgiimann, an Oklahoma
sheriff and a one time partner of
Bat Masterson in Kansas, was in
New York recently and while here
told this story:
“A posse was one day looking for
a bad man who was the real thing.
Bat and I and several others were
in the bunch, and we ambushed our
man, and when he was within twenty
steps we suddenly showed ourselves
and ordered him to throw up his
hands.
“He was on horseback, and he
promptly drew a revolver. There
was nothing else for us to do, and
five of us fired, and the bad man
tumbled from his pony. We went
to bin? and found that, while he
was badly wounded, ho was not dead..
He cursed us roundly and then grew
castic.

The Value of Serenity.
One of the most difficult things to
do in the world sometimes is to keep
one’s temper. A calm serenity of
tapper and a self control which
kCps a person unruffled amid tha
pity annoyances and lies of every
day life indicate the possession of
perfect mental health. Nowadays
people are very fond of saying, “So-
and-so was just mad,” meaning very
angry. But it would be well if tem
per were more often seriously re
garded as madness. It may be pre
ventable madness, but madness it is
while, it lasts, and there is seldom
any one who is made more unhappy
by it than the person who gives way
to it. In our treatment of the ill
tempered the cultivation of the art
of not hearing will be veiy helpful.
It is a useful art all through life.—

It seems that British naval authorities
have nullified the laws of Newfound

up the proceeding.
This fisheries matter Is very much
like the Japanese school question in
San Francisco. Through a treaty with
the United States Great Britain ignores
the local laws of her colony. Mean
while the fishermen on the spot have
been fighting it out among themselves

treaty making if not of lawmaking.

The King Investigated.
Signor Prinetti, the Italian for
eign minister, recently asked the
king to sign a decree augmenting
the foreign office staff- His majes
ty promised to think over it and next
morning set out alone on foot to
pay a visit to the office. Arriving
at 9 o’clock, he found no one there.
A long search unearthed a solitary
clerk, w'ho was smoking cigarettes.
“What are the hours of this office ?”
asked the king. “From 8 to 13,
was the reply. “And when may
expect to see your colleagues?”
“They generally turn up about 11
o’clock.” Then his majesty sent for
Signor Prinetti and suggested that
instead of asking for more clerks
he should make it his business to
see that the existing clerks attended
to their duties.

Silver Dollars.
A government secret service man,
whose business is with counterfeit
ing, spoils the story that half the
silver dollars are made outside the
government mints and, being of the
same weight and fineness of legiti
mate coin, cannot be detected, the
silver in a dollar costing but 50
cents, making a nice margin for the
maker of the queer coins. The de
tective calls attention to the fact
that government dollars, being
stamped cold from silver in ahp^ts,
have clean cut lines, while molded
coin have not and are detected at
once. For counterfeiters to operate
