Miss Bertha Leonard returned home Monday afternoon last from a visit of several weeks to her uncle, Congressman E. B. Lewis, in Washington, D. C. She was there during the visit of Prince Henry of Prussia when the social festivi ties of the city were beyond comparison. Hon. D, W. Harvard of near Unadllla, was here this week shaking hands with the people. He says that if re-elected he will urge the passage of a bill allowing the state treasurer to turn over the school fund due each county to their respective treasurer’s so they can keep It on deposit in the county banks, thereby giving them the use of the money until it is paid out, instead of letting the banka in tha large cities get the whole benefit. This would mean a great deal to some of the county banks, especially in Dooly, as her share of the school fund is over $16,000.00. REGISTER AND VOTE BIGHT. The registration books are now' open tor the purpose of allowing all qualified voters to register for the primary. The books will be sent out to each of the districts in the county, to the justices of the peace, after court. Let everybody take advantage of the opportunity and register so that he will be able to cast hi* vote for the best men for office, backed up by the right principles. We admire the citizen that always ex ercises bis right of suffrage and votes according to the dictates of bis conscience whether bis choice is the same as ours or not.. MASBBURN--GUM.
