Every school teacher of the fe male sex who is young, who has admirers among young men and finds their attentions agreeable, will be glad to know that Miss Copass has. won her suit for a year’s salary against the Hall-Moody In stitute of Tennessee. It will be remembered thut Miss Copess lost her position in that Institute be cause she had indulged in “loo much society,” the trustees conten ding that she thus seiiously inter- feared with her usefulness ns a teacher. Miss Copass defended herself oh the ground that si e was “popular” and‘'couldn’t help it.’’ She showed, moreover, that she re ceived a beau at home or went to some local function with one not oftfener than three times a week, and she evidently believed that in thus restricting herself she really exercised stern self denial, consid ering the fact that she was “popu lap,” What earthly jury of men could have done otherwise than come to the rescue of a young and charm ing teacher who Confessed t'-atsbe couldn’t help it! The plea went straight to their hearts, Of court e she couldn’t help liking and accept ing the attentions of men who pleased her any more than these men could resist the desire to vij with each other in the effort to make themselves agreeable., It is nature, and nature in one of its attractive phases. After listening to n confession so complimentary to their sex, it is no wonder the jurymen ordered the hard-hearted trustees to pay the bill. The latter have learned a lesson. Hereuftcr they will either select lady teach ers who for obvious reasons will never weary of too many siutors or agree that every charming Pene lope belonging to the establish ments may seek recreation in mas culini society at least three times a week.—Macon Telegraph.
