Orrle Jordan is on the rood to re covery after suffering with an attack of pneumonia for a few days. Mrs. J. D. Norris is the author of a hymn called: “Come Unto Me.” It is being sung in the church services. Miss Cliff Whitehead was on the siek list Monday and Tuesday. Eggleston"* McDonald closed a con tract with Mr. Hardaway, bridge con tractor of the A. & B. Saturday to furnish the lumber to build the trestles between Cordele and Montezuma. Busbee left Saturday night for White Sulphur Springs, Fla., where he will be gone several days for his health. Hargrove has four varieties of thoroughbred chickens, und 70 of them are only a few days old. She also has a beautiful yard and a fine garden down to Coney, where they enjoyed n spelling bee that night. J. Q. Shipp was in the city Sunday, having completed his job at Pine- hurst. Railroad, works -to hands. He will move ills mill from the railroad near t he home of Mr. Jasper Lewis in a few days. It appears since the survey*of the A. & B. from Cordele to Byroinville via Vienna, has been made that it is a direct route and that the cost of con- stuction so for as has been estimated, will'save tho company $16,000 to come by Vienna. If the A. & B. railroad comes by Vienna it will have on it’s line three of the best towns in Georgia, within a radius of thirty miles and the pros pects of another making four. They are Cordele, Vienna, Montezuma and Byromville. Saturday’s News will contain two more special articles. Editor Webb, of the Adel News, stopped over in Vieuna yesterday mor- ing on his return home from a visit to his psrenta at Byromville, long enough to meet a few of his old friends and pay iis a pleasant call. We were indeed glad to see him and hspe he will come again soon. Yesterday morning at p O’clock the April quarterly term of the city court of Vienna convened with Judge D. L. Henderson presiding und Solicitor J. T. Hill of Cordele acting as prosecutor lor the state. Col. Joe Ansley of Americus, is acting as stenograher. A large number of witnesses and other parties were in attendance yesterday. Soon after court was convened several cases were dis posed of by pleas of guilty.
