See my Buggies and wagons before buying. , „ TT J. O. Hamilton Misses Howell Melton and Annie Sheppard spent Saturday night out at the home of Jno. H. Powell and enjoyed a peanut hulling. Miss Lizzie Jordan retemed to her home at Findlay Monday afternoon after spending a few days here with her brothers A. E. and W, W. Jordan. Col. l>. A. R. Crum returned home from Atlanta Saturday of terndon where he has been for tho past month for his health. He has improved considerably L. M. Altman of Goidele, was here yesterday looking out for a houso to move his family Into. He will proba bly have the contract to do some grad ing on the A. & B. in the city limits. J. Q. Shipp was in the oity Monday mingling with his many friends. He left yesterday morning for Elko where he has a contract to erect a handsome dwelling and will be gono about five weeks. Mr. M. M. Doyle, prominent farmer and mill man of Fenn, Ga., purchased a handsome Surry and Harness from our wide-awake firm, J. P. Heard & Sons of this city, last Friday; Mr.' Doyle knows where to get the best. J. L. Peavy visited his father, I. Y. Peavy Monday, who has been quite sick but is better at present.. Mr. Peavy informed a reporter of the News that his father has a fodder stock, made of light-wood, which he has been using ever since tho year 185j. E. G. Walton and wife of Dosia, formerly of this city, are here this week and we ore informed that Mrs. Walton will reside here at present and that Mr. Walton is looking out for a saw mill location and that they will probably make Vienna their future home. Mr. Walton is now in the saw mill business at Dosia. A DELIGHTFUL PICNIC. Misses Fannie and Louie Fenn tenderd a number ot their school mutes a picnic out at the country home of their parents, Mr. and Henry Fenn, about five miles south west of Vienna last Saturday. The picnic was held on the banks of the fish pond, and plenty of fish were caught for all those present, besides having a good time playing various games. Refreshment^ were served during the day. The crowd attended from here in buggies and wagons. It was Un occasion that will long be remembered by those so fortunate as to be present. T. T. MARTIN DEAR. Cols M. P. Hall and W. F. Jno. M. Woodward, of Hawkinsville, spent Saturday and Sunday in the city with his lather, Judge Jno. H. Wood ward. Miss Victoria Wooten, of Channcey, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. W. W. Jordan for .several days, left t.v her ha a. Mb.sday aM-rnoou. The many friends of Prof. T. T, Martin in this city and county will be grieved to learn of his death which occurred at Perry Sunday morning. Mr. Martin was a citi zen ot Vienna for two or three yeais tnd was a member of the Baptist church here. He suffered from cancer of the throat, and left this city last summer for Perry, the home of his brother and other relatives. He suffered severely for the greater part of the time; but a short time before his death he said that lie' was willing to go. He was also a Mason and was Secre tary of the Lodge here, when he was compelled to go to his old home. He was a good hearted mun and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand in any good cause.
