The commencement exercises of'the Vienna Public School will take place -next week. They have secured the service of contractor, W. M. Thomas and will have the same remodeled and put in . good condition. When completed It will be one ot the prettiest honjes In ' that part of the city. Col. L. L. Woodward rememberod a number of his friends in this city while down at/Tampa, Fla., last week and shipped them about 76 pounds of fish which were very nice and highly en joyed. The largest one was caught by Col. Uoobix A Co. Rev. E. S. Atkinson filled his regular appointment at the Baptist church Sunday. One member was received at the night service and the ordinance of baptism was administered to one. A protracted meeting will commence on the 4tli Sunday in this month and the pastor will bB assisted by Rev. W. L. Walker of Quitman. .Messrs Jno. B. McDonald and Ed. Howell visited Mncon yesterday to see about placing an order for the brick and lime to be used in erecting the Cotton Oil Mill. The main building will be built of brick and it will require over a half million brick and about 600 barrels ot lime. The work will be com menced the latter port of this week or the first of next week. -This is an en- tarprise that Vienna has needed for. a long time and one for which the News has advocated ever since its existence. With these men behind it as its chief promoters we feel no hesitancy in say ing that it will be a grand success as a profitable investment and a help to the town and market. Fowell, who hi^s made one of the best officers the county has ever bud. He always has been a sober and honorable chiistian gentleman. He fought for hia country in ths sixties, and if the people will vote for.bim on the 5th of June they will never regret it. (a) The objects ot said corporation and the particular business to be carried on are to manutacture, buy and se»l at wholesale and retail from cotton seed, oil, meal, lint, hulls stock-feed and fertilizers of every description; to refine oil, buy and sell cottort seed, and fertilizers; to oper ate cotton ginneries; and in general to conduct the business of a cotton seed oil mill, arid the manufacture and sale of fertilizers anil merchandise _ incident tnerelo. ~ (3) The principal office and place of bu-lness ot said,corporatlon shall be in the town of Vienna, Dooly county, Georgia; but the petitioners desire the right to.es tablish branch offices, factmies, places of business, seed houses and scales at such other places as said corporation may wish 1 (4) f he capital stock of said cpmpany to be actually paid in is $40,000.00, divid ed into' shnres ot $too,oo each, and peti tioners ssk the privilege ot increasing the same at any time to anv amount not ex- ceeding$Z3o, 000.00. Petitioners ask that the subscriptions to the capital stock may bepaid in any kind of property that the corporation it authorized to deal in. No stockholder in' said company shall be bound In h'S individual capacity for the contract or debt of the company beyond the amount of hfs unpaid subscription to its capitsl stock. (5) Petitioners pray that they may be granted the right to make all proper rules, constitutions and by-laws, and alter the same at pleasure ; also that they have the power to elect suen directors, officers and agents as they see fit. The period of said incorporation shell be twenty years, with the privilege ot renewal as provided by law. . Of the latest 200 grand viziers of the sultan of Turkey not more than twenty-four have died naturally. One. hundred of them were poison ed, and thirty-six-of the others were either beheaded or drowned in the Bosporus. Of .the remaining forty the cause of death gannot be traced, but from the silence of Turkish' his torians on the subject their end iras evidently not happy.
