commencement exercises of the Vienna
Public School here Thursday and Fri
day nights.
L. W. McKenzie and Mrs. Alvin Mc
Kenzie of Spalding, arrived in the city
yesterday morning. Mrs. McKenzie
boarded the train here for Ashburn,
where she will spend some time with
relatives.
J. Q. Shipp, who has been away from
Vienna most of the time for the past
few months doing work at Pinehurst,
Unadilla and Elko has returned to the
city sgain and is now superintending

his Lewis place yesterday to see
how his crops were gening on.

watermelons, the largest of which
weighed 20 pounds, six or eight
cantelopes and several cotton stalks
The cotton was taken from a hun
dred acre field,every stalk in which
will average waist Sigh, and liter
ally loaded with iruit.
Mr. Clegg will commence to shi p
cantelopes and melons next week,
and no one need be surprised if lie
comes up with the first bate of
