father Rev J. M. Walters here Monday
afternoon and accompanied him homo.
He had been down in Telfair county
where he preached Saturday and Sun-

J. T. Collier went up to Atlanta
Monday to be present at the utiveiling
of the monument erected in honor of
General \ynlker. Mr. Collier was
within n few feet of the General when
he was killed in a battle near Atlanta.
Mra. Meeks and daughter, Miss Meta
returned to the city Monday night
from Florida, where they have been
spending several weeks. Miss Meta has
decided to take charge of the telegraph
office again and she has 'many friends
here who are glad to have her back
again.
Dr. J. N. Dorminy of Wray, was in
the city Saturday. He came up last
Thursday to be at the bedside of his
father, who lives thirteen miles north
east of this city, and who died a short
time after his arrival. He returned
home Saturday afternoon accompanied
by bis family who had been visiting
relatives in the county for several da^s.
