Mr. Bryan is a fine talker and a
sensible man when he is off the sub
ject of his fad, the un-Democratic
platform. It is a pity that he doesn’t
reform or keep silent us does his
distinguished disciple, Thomas E.
Watson of Georgia, on this subject
and devote his tune to lectures on
other things, the practice of law or
the writing of history. He might
become a blessing to the world in
stead of a menace.
Before leaving Boston on his re
cent trip thtough New England,
Mr. Bryan in his hnppiest manner
addressed the newsboys at Tremont
Temple. His speech was eloquent
it is said, and replete with good
thoughts well delivered, and shows
Mr. Bryan in his most pleasing as
pect. Among other things his
speech contained the following:
“I go on the theory that the hap
piness we get in life we get it out
of what we do lor others, and not
what is done for us,
“I don’t like to talk to people
whether they be men or boys, with
out leaving some idea. I have
known an idea to revolutionize a
man’s whole being, and not only
that, but a whole community, a
state, a nation or world.
“You boys, all of you. are pass
ing through that period of life that
ought to be the period of schools.
The first thought I have to suggest
to you is that you cannot get too
much of education. I know that it
necessary for you to work in order
to support father, mother or sister
or brother. And one of my con
demnations against the present in
dustrial system is for this reason—
that when they tell you we arc
prosperous I tell them that this
country will never he prosperous
until the father can earn enough to
send his children to school instead
ot sending them to work.
“My second thought is that I
want you to accustom yourselves to
sat e. The boy who saves his
money is enabling himself to become
his own master. I object to trusts
because they destroy individual
enterprise.”
So far, so good. If Mr. Bryan
would devote himself to bringing
about the conditions herein describ
ed in the right way, no one would
object. Oil the contrary, the world
would rise up and cali him blessed!

Yes, August Flowers still has the larg

world. Your mothers and grandrr others’
never thought of using anything else for
indigestion or biliousness. Doctors were
scarce, and they seldom heard of appen-,

clean «ut the system and stop fermenta
tion of undigested'food, regulate the ac- j
tion of tlie liver, stimulate tlte nervous ]
and organic action of the system, and
that is all they took when feeling dull and
