There is consldorablo business, both civil and crimnal, oa hand for trial. Some time ago the Fidelity Mu- tual Life Insurance Company de clared forfeited a policy of $6,000 on the life of Mr. John Wesley Daniel, after he had paid in more than $5,000. The grounds for declaring the policy forfeited was that Mr. Duniel was a day or two lute in his payment, although, a number of times before he had been late and nothing was said concern ing it. Mr. Duniel hud carried the policy for sixteen years and waa past the age of obtaining insurance elsewhere when the policy wua declared forfeited. He endeavored in u number of ways to induce the company to reinstate the policy^ offering the pay in another thou sand at one time and allowing the compnny to have the use of the entire amount without interest until the day of his death. The company would not hear to no offer or com promise and some time ago suit was commenced by Mr. Daniel in the United States court in Macon to compel the company to recognise the policy. As soon as this was done Mr. Duniel’s lawyers received a letter from some one connected with the company, stating tbatMr v Daniel had been wronged and that company would gladly reinstate the policy. Mr, Daniel has accept ed this compromise and has for warded all of bis back dues to the company. Mr. John W. Scarborough has a similar complaint against another company. It is not known whether this company will take the action as the Fidelity Mutual. Mr. Scarborough is preparing to enter- suit in the city court of AtlaQte.
