daughter, Vannie, Monday night. She
was only sick a few days.

The saving bnnk business that was
being transacted here a short time
ago, was stopped pending action of the
City council in regard to license. The
case will probaly be decided very soon.
W. A. Forehand of Pleasant Valley,
was elected marshal Monday night by
the city council in ‘place.of H. J. Mor
gan, who has baen off duty several
weeks on nccount of sickness.
Mr. E. 8. Bowen, one of Dooly’s most
successful farmers, brought 168 bales
of hay to town and some of the finest
turnips thnt have been produced in the
county, Mr. Bowen never cries “Hard
times.” *
Coroner J. W. Graham of Unadilla,
was in the city AVednesday, having
brought down the inquest papers in the
case of the three negro children that
were burned to death in a house near
that plants Tuesday morning.
