On Nov. 1, merciless death appeared In the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. I. King and took from us our loved one, Earl, who was only two years and six months old when she was called home. Our sky is hung witli black and som ber curtains, and overcast with the gloom of sorrow, and the world seems empty and cheerless, for it is lonely without her. But one sweet consola tion, we know she is where there is no more suffering and the weary are at rest. It was so hard to see the little fresh flower fade away and die, but God only had a vacant place to fill and took one of his choicest flowers, but it Vtas almost like breaking our hearts. We bent over the open coffin, looking at her folded little hands which will never clasp ours again, gaxing at the closed eyes, and our scalding tears fall as we realise we can never see her Bgain. Our dear little one had such a ■weet disposition and was'ready to meet every one with a smile and it is so lonely now as we cannot see her smiling face and hear her sweet prattles sgaiu. But little Earl’s youthful answer to the Saviour’s call, “Come up higher,” was ■o sod, but still I know the loving Saviour said: “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for suoh is the kingdom of Heaven.” What is our loss is Heaven’s rich gain, tor she is at the Saviour’s right hand, basking in Heavenly sunshine and beckoning for us to make ready .for the great day coming. Oh I Earl, my heart colls for you. Many a day yearning with passionate pain; Longing for your sweet presence again. Written by her Aunt, ' N. E. B. WANTED.
