J. B McDonald went up to Pinehurst
Thursday afternoon to superintend the

has sold to Messrs. J. R. Horne, R.
Whitehead and W. L. Williams.

The many friends nnd well 'wishers
of Rev. H. P. Myers are sorry to see
him leave Vienna vary much, but they
hope he will be well pleased with his
new charge and all wish him much
happiness and prosperity in his new-
home. While in Vienna he has made
many warm and true friends, whose
good wishes will go with him where-
ever he may hnppen to go.

carried from Judge Spenr’scourt to the
United States court of appeals in Atlan
ta bcforeJudge Pardue, nnd he refused
to hear fie case also, on the same
grounds as Judge Spear. The case
will now be arbitrated between the
two road* at Cordele next week.

day from a visit to relatives at Drayton,

The people here are getting very anx
ious for the new railroad to make its
appearance here. As yet no settlement
of the matter has been made and no
signs of any are in sight.
While Bev. J. M. Walters and wife
were on their way to church at Mt.
Vernon last Saturday, the mule became
frightened and tore up the buggy,
hurting Mrs; Walters very badly.
Our subscribers in Findlay failed to
get their papers Wednesday. THey
left this office on time and were mailed,
and the fault must lie with the mail
clerks on the train. Wc make it a point
to always mail our papers on time.
The people of Vienna extend a warm
and hearty welcome, to Rev. B. E.
Whittington and family, who are to
make their home witli us. We feel
sure they will And many friends in
Vienna who will be glad to give them a
hearty welcome to this city.
Orton’s circus showed to a crowded
tent here Wednesday. It was at first
the intention of the manager to re
main over and show here again Thurs
day, but for some reason this idea was
given up. It was a very fair show
considering the size and the price of
admission. The clowns were, perhaps,
the best feature.
Preparations for getting fie big oil
mill into operation is gsing steadily
forward, and just as soon is the neces
sary machinery arrives, it will be set
up nnd started in motion. The company
has its hands full along now. The
electric light plnnt is to be erected and
also a plant for f urnisbing the town has
to be built at the same time, so that
everyone connected with this company
is very busy these days.
