Mr. John B. Hussey, employed by the
government to examine'applications
for the rural mail routes was here last
week, and after holding the examina
tions he boarded the train, and while
between Macon and Washington on his
way back to the latter city, he ditd
suddenly. It is supposed the trouble
wus heart disease.
The minstrel which tvilf be presented
by our local talent promises to be one
of the best, if not the very best event
of the kind that hus ever been present
ed at the opera house in this city. The
boys are working hard to give a first-
•lass entertainment in every respect,
and we believe that their efforts will
crowned with flattering success. Tlie

Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Christian, former
ly of Lumpkin, have moved to Vienna
and will make this place their home in
the future. Tiiey are the parents of
our City Court Stenographer, Mr. W.

The state and eonnty tax books were
doted Friday, that being the limit to
which the law allows them to remain.
All who failed to pay their taxes
by that time may now lookout for the
inevitable execution. There Js no way
.of getting around or avoiding paying
