and send a letter from this’part
of the section, telling you and the
readers of the Yieltna News the
latest happenings of this commu
nity.
The News has several corre
spondents and all of them write a
long, lively, interesting letter
each week. That’s good. The
twice-a-week News is much better
than once a week for we get the
news while it is new.
Lafayette Joiner is very busy
hauling lumber to the plainer at
Unadilla having it dressed for the
purpose of adding another room
to his dwelling. Pate is never
idle.
W. T. Lindsey made atrip to
Pinehurst Tuesday on business.
W\ G. Joiner and sou, Jim,
made a visit to Hawkinsville
Thursday.
Tom Bush was here' Friday.
Jim McArthur, of Macon, was
here Friday oil business.
Jim Joiner made a visit to Uua-
dilla Friday.
Jackson Bros., with their mill
crew, loaded curs at Unadilla last
Wednesday.
Lindsey <fc Sons have recently
located their shingle mill here and
is doing a hustling good business.
We are sorry to note the illness
of Lank Crozier with rheumatism.
William Horne, of Harmony,
was here Friday on business.
The election bore Tuesday pass
ed off quietly. One hundred and
twenty votes was voted for the old
road law and none for the alter
native system.
J. B. and C. D. McKinney were
visitors to Vienna Friday.
Mrs. Emma Lane of this place,
is visiting relatives at Kerns this
week.
Wiley Thurmon has recently
sold his crop'to Rich Goodman at
Kerns.
Howell Spradloy and Willie
Thurmon, of Hollow Branch, were
here Tuesday.
We are sorry to note the illness
of P. O. Lindsey, with'his hand
that was caught by the saw of
his shingle mill five weeks ago
while he was examining thej boxes
and saw to see if they were hot.
The saw came very near cutting
three of his fingers off, with which
he has suffered very much since.
C. S. Bush was among us last
Tursday.
Graham Bros., are locating an
other saw mill near hero.
Tho fish fry mentioned by the
third district scribe in a previous
letter was postponed until another
time.
Quite a number of our people
attended the singing at Snow last
Sunday.
C. L. and J. V. Joiner made a
business trip to Cordele Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Lindsey nnd
sister, Daisy, worshipped at Dou
ble Branch Sunday.
Dave Joiner, of Hawkinsville,
also attended services at Double
branch Sunday.
Judge Cross has closed down his
shingle mill for a few days.
