executor and Mrs. John Barnes as

WATER TAX ORDINANCE.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and City
Council of the City-of Vienna, aud it
is hereby ordained by the authority of
the same, that u water-tax on each Hy
drant or opening, as hereinafter desig
nated, be collected by the Olerk and
Treasurer of the City Council of Vien
na, beginning on the first day of July,
1906, and collecting quarterly thereaf
ter, in advance, as per the scale below
given:
On each opening for domestic uses,
at the rate of 50 cents per month for
tlie lirst, and 25 cent^ for each addi
tional opening.
On each opening in business houses,
stables, etc., same as domestic, 50c per
mouth for the first, and 25c for each ad
ditional opening.
On water motors used in residences
the same as extra openings, water mo
tors used in business bouses, (1.00 ppr
month. Additional openings ,25c per
month.
On each opening fur ginneries, $10
per month.
On each bathing pool, (3.00 for each
tilling, the same to he filled between
the hours of Eight p. tn.and Four a. m.
On each manufacturing industry in
said city a tax shall be fixed by the
Mayor and City Council at a regular
meeting, in Buch an amount as may
seem equitable and just, the amount of
water used to be taken into consider
ation.
All openings and businesses not here
in specified shall pay for the use of wai
ter in such an umount as may. be
deemed equitable and just, same to be
fixed by the Mayor and City Council
in regular meeting.
Be it further ordained by the author
ity aforesaid that each and every per
son or persons, firms or coporation, us
ing water in said city of Vienna, shatl
on or before the first day of July, the
first day of October, the first day of
January, and the first day of April, of
each year, beginning with July the 1st
19UH, pay to the Clerk and Treasurer of
the City of Vienna, the amount due the
said City for water, as per the sched
ule given above, the amount to be paid
being quarterly payment in advance,
or for Three months, immediately fol
lowing the dates hereinbefore set out.
Be it fur'therordaimd by the author
ity aforesaid that in case of tbe failure
ol any person'pr persons, firm or firms,
or corpoporation. to pay said water-
rent in advance, as hereinbefore stated,
by or before* the dates mentioned, that |
the Clerk and Treasurer shall make up j
a list of those who are in such arrears,
arid turn the same over to the Marshal
of the said City, who shall, with a com
petent workman, proceed to the open
ings of tlie party or parties in arrears
for water-rent, and cutoff from their
premises any connection with the wa
ter-mains of Haid City of Vienna, there
by depriving them of the use of the
same, until they shall have paid the
quarterly pnyment due for said water-
rent.
