and one or two other minor crimes.

For the past month the editor has
been deprived of giving vent to his
ideas through the editorial, columns
on account of insufficient help in the
mechanical department. We have
been forced to stand over the typo
cases ourselves and consequently
didn’t have time to write anything
but local und news happenings. The
political cards which have been pub
lished about the different candidates
came in handy for something to fill
up. But we are glad to say that the
deficiency has been remedied and we
will again be found endeavoring to
give the many readers of the News
something to think about.
Mr. J. A. Darsey sends in a com
munication in reply to the article
signed by “Watt,” which reached us
too late for publication this issue, hut
will appear next week. It was our
purpose to allow these communica
tions in regard to the gubernatorial
race continue the same as we did in
the Terrell-Guerry campaign, which
gave every side an equal showing.
But It seems that there are some of
our readers who do not like anything
that comes from the other side and
we have about readied the conclu
sion to cut them out In the future and
do all the writing ourselves and take
ait the blame. It doesn’t matter to
the editor how much you whoop up
your candidate, as that’s your privi
lege, and if we do the same that’s
ours, and it won’t do you any good
to get mad.
